The duo, who were spotted at an awards night held in the city recently, seemed to be indulging themselves in some musical treat these days.

At the same time, after creating a niche in the music industry with chartbusters like Chaar Baj Gaye (F.A.L.T.U) and Khooni Monday (Go Goa Gone) which hit the right notes with young music enthusiasts in the country, the duo feel the pressure to maintain the same tempo. And in a funny way, their musical hits always seem to put the composers in a fix. “The reality is that your last popular number will haunt you.
And one must be prepared to face requests from producers who ask us for a 6 baj gaye or an 8 baj gaye track in their movies,” says Sachin. While Jigar quickly pitches in, “All we are keen on is to remember one aspect that for us crossing our own benchmark is important. And we deal with every challenge related to music and our work quite emphatically.”
The duo adds, “Fortunately Sachin – Jigar is a relatively young brand. And that is where we see an advantage because we are not yet typecast. And we did everything that is experimental — everything that is whacky and young and is related to the youth. As such there is no motto. We just go with the flow.”

The Gujarati listeners surely need some refreshing music, feel the duo. “Gujarati music has churned out some of the most iconic numbers,” says Sachin adding, “However, people need more contemporary music as they are tired of watching garba.
There are people like Devang Patel and Parthiv Gohil who have brought in the peppy vibes to Gujarati music.” Seconds Jigar, saying, “What is needed in Gujarati music is some edgy stuff that the young would relate to. That’s what we are trying to do as we are thinking of folk fusion and something edgy that people like to listen to.”
