Delhi based musician Sheil Sagar died on Wednesday due to unknown causes. Friends and musicians from the independent music fraternity confirmed the news on social media.
A close friend of his on social media tweeted, “Today is a sad day... first KK and then this beautiful budding musician who had us in awe with his rendition of my favourite song #wickedgames..
may you rest in peace #SheilSagar.”
Another user wrote, “R.I.P #sheilsagar, I didn't know him personally but I once attended his show and so I was able to connect with him and the phase he was going through as an artist, I really loved the way he made music , we lost a gem :) Please start supporting independent even every artist.”
Sheil rose to fame within the Indie music scene with his shimmering acoustic debut single “If I Tried” last year, which had 40,000 streams on a popular music streaming platform.
Sagar was a versatile artist. He played the piano, guitar and saxophone, and was also a producer-composer. He was also the former vice-president at the music society of Hansraj College where he actively engaged in the
Delhi University music circuit.
