A ghazal tribute to Jagjit Singh

Late Jagjit Singh was the subject and theme of a musical evening hosted by T-Series on Monday night. Ghazal patrons turned up in big numbers to remember their favourite singer. '

2'’s director and co-producer Anubhav Sinha played the perfect host for the evening, where he also introduced his upcoming film’s heroes — Aashim Gulati and Aditya Seal. After a thorough technical rehearsal, Rekha Bhardwaj, Hariharan, Jaswinder Singh and Anup Jalota paid rich tributes to the late maestro. The audience sang along with the performers on songs like 'Tumko dekha to yeh khayal aaya' and 'Hothon se chhu lo tum'. Bhushan Kumar, the film’s producer, made a quick entry and exit. The evening closed with a nazm recital by lyricist Shakeel. Poets from across India had sent in their poems on Jagjit, which he read out to the audience.
