About the Movie

The central character of Kris, had a lot of scope but writing doesn't etch out anything worthy. The treatment of the subject and the cinematography of this film are both lacklustre, too.

Blue Jean Blues Movie Review {1/5}: Critic Review of Blue Jean Blues by Times of India

STORY: Nerd Krishna (Raj Thakur) aka Kris finds himself struggling to deal with the real world when his girlfriend dumps him over his ‘average joe’ looks and underdog status.REVIEW: When a teenager has his heart broken at the hands of a girlfriend, who is superficial enough to disregard his seriousness about their relationship and only concentrate on his average looks, he loses touch with reality. Depressed and consumed by self-doubt, Kris shuts everyone out and wallows in self-pity.So, just when you start to think that the plot is headed towards exploring the growing issue of mental health among youngsters, the scriptwriter introduces an annoying and pig-headed character called Kartik mama. His ‘my way or highway’ attitude pushes the film towards self-discovery and introspection, thus failing to do justice to both the theme and its underlying ideas.‘Blue Jeans’ is a metaphor for the wave of emotions young people have to navigate through, in their lives. But, the story has a not-so-appealing sub-plot, which changes the focus of the narrative and robs the film of its impact. The central character of Kris, had a lot of scope but writing doesn't etch out anything worthy. The treatment of the subject and the cinematography of this film are both lacklustre. This film sets out to depict a motivational journey for young audiences, but it isn't able to convey the right ideas with the required conviction or clarity. This blue jeans, turns out to be a little too distressed and haggard.
