My Friend's Dulhania

Story
A group of friends travel to Kashmir to their friend’s wedding. They’re taken aback when they find that the bride has a rather colourful history with one of the friends. Will the wedding happen or will there be another outcome to this story forms the crux of the film.

Review
The only thing one can be excited about after watching ‘My Friend`s Dulhania’ is the short run time of under 90 minutes. Besides that, there is literally nothing to celebrate at this wedding.

Aryan (Mudasir Zafar) from Mumbai falls in love with Mahira (Shaina Baweja) from Delhi. While they meet over social media and have never met each other, it’s baffling to see him point put that Mahira’s friend has lost weight from the last time he saw her. Bizarre? Not really. There’s more. One of the three friends, Sneha, reaches her office; all dressed in a pant-suit and tells the boss she can’t come to work as she’s ill while standing at the reception at work. Which lazy employee would deck up and come all the way when they could have given the excuse from the cosy confines of their bed? Such Bizarre scenes keep unfolding as the three friends Aryan, Sneha (Pooja Rathi) and Harsh (Mayur Mehta) reach Kashmir — dancing throughout the journey — to their college friend Sajjad’s (Saurabbh Roy) wedding in Kashmir. Days after landing, they finally ask to see Sajjad’s bride who turns out to be Mahira; Aryan’s girlfriend who ran out on him. The trio investigates whether this dulhan is fit for their friend or not.

While there is a semblance of a story, there is nothing in the film that supports it. When it comes to the screenplay, the film baffles you. The performances by the actors are sub-par, and at times, they have difficulty even saying their lines clearly. There is a twist in the story leading up to the climax, but by the time you reach it, the film turns into an unintentional comedy. The music is decent, but that’s clearly no incentive to attend this wedding.
