Good Luck story: Angoori (Malti Mathur), a 75-year-old woman, throws her family into comedic chaos when she unexpectedly becomes pregnant.

Good Luck review: ‘Good Luck’ presents a unique premise of an elderly woman unexpectedly finding herself pregnant, a situation not uncommon today. Anchored by Malti Mathur's portrayal of the 75-year-old Angoori, the film navigates the ensuing chaos within her family in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. With her son Pappi's (Brijendra Kala) political ambitions, daughter-in-law Sharmili's (Manisha Chitrode) preoccupations, and grandson Brahmdutt's (Ashutosh Upadhyay) aspirations to become an influencer, Angoori often feels sidelined and seeks attention through various antics.

Director Prakhar Shrivastava's skillful blend of situational humor and emotion is a highlight of this 98-minute film. It effectively sheds light on the neglect experienced by the elderly in the fast-paced modern life. However, the screenplay by Abhishek Manoharchanda falls short of fully realizing the story's potential. The first half maintains a steady pace with the "Badhaai Ho wala kaand" as Pappi refers to it, but the second half slows down and becomes overly emotional. The climax, unfortunately, falters with excessive twists introduced by Angoori's actions.

Brijendra Kala shines as Pappi, deftly portraying his character's range of emotions from political fervour to embarrassment over his mother's unexpected pregnancy. Some jokes and punches do fall flat at some places, but Kala effortlessly pulls them off in most instances. Mathur's debut performance as Angoori is commendable, capturing the character's genuine emotions. The supporting cast delivers convincingly as well.

Although the situational songs complement the narrative, they lack a lasting impact, and the production value is noticeably below par. While ‘Good Luck’ may not reach the heights of films like ‘Badhaai Ho,’ exploring almost similar themes, it effectively communicates its message.
