Battalion 609 Story: In order to earn back a portion of land that was wrongfully acquired by the Pakistani Army, the Indian Army challenges them for a match of cricket and the winning team gets to take home the land whilst maintaining its nation’s pride.

Battalion 609 Review: ‘Battalion 609’ is a noble attempt to highlight the countless sacrifices Indian soldiers make to protect our international borders and sovereignty, but the story-line is far fetched and even laughable on several occasions. Other than the slightly bearable songs and a sense of patriotism that it intends to inculcate in today’s generation, this war drama has nothing new to offer considering we have many classics on this specific subject.

Also, the fact that the movie is a 2 hour, 21 minutes rant on a particular country and portrayal of it in bad taste, is unacceptable. All in all, ‘Battalion 609’ is not the kind of story that successfully shows the true heroism of our Indian soldiers as it is constantly taking jibes at the neighbouring nation and throwing accusations at it that have not so far been proved.
