STORY: When a noted doctor goes missing for 11 days, a 10-year-old patient of his wife (who is also a doctor) comes forward and makes some startling revelations. As the story unfolds, it is revealed that all the characters in the film have secrets of their own that go back to one particular hotel room in suburban Mumbai.

REVIEW: Dr Anil Asthana (Mohan Agashe) disappears under mysterious circumstances and within 11 days of his much publicised disappearance, Dr Asthana’s psychiatrist wife Dr Suman Asthana (Divya Dutta) is forced into meeting a child (Yashvit Sancheti) with an unknown medical condition, who turns out to know a lot more than he is leading on.

Had it not been for the e-ticketing portals, the audience would have struggled to successfully identify the genre of this movie – yes, it is that haphazard. From black magic and reincarnation to paranormal elements and eternal love, the director of the movie, Shravan Kumar, seems to have tried it all but nothing really works.

The cinematography reeks of unpreparedness and the pace of the scenes and sequences at a pace slower than the slowest thing imaginable.

Veteran actors like Atul Kulkarni and Divya Dutta try, but even they look visibly lost and disinterested after a point. The story has been stretched beyond painful lengths and is a sum total of all things bizarre. And, defies logic and how. For example, just a day after it is revealed that the doctor is dead, all the other characters go about covering up their own sins and nobody really makes an effort to find out why the doctor meets with his untimely demise.

The child actor is definitely not ready to take on the role of a catalyst in the film and the same goes for the director and screenwriter as well. The only mystery that needs to be unlocked is why was ‘706’ made in the first place.
