Thanks to OTT, actors are busy all the time: Mugdha Godse
Mugdha Godse, who was in Vadodara recently for an event, says, “Last year, I shot for a web series in the city and stayed here for about 10 days. However, I did not get time to explore the city. I want to visit the Laxmi Vilas Palace on my next trip.”
The Fashion actress, who has done web shows like Bloody Brothers and The Broken News, adds, “Gujarat has a different vibe. People are very nice and welcoming, and I love Gujarati food. I can’t have enough of fafda, dhokla and theplas. Coming here and not eating these delicacies is a sin!”
‘I never thought I could sing and perform live’
Last year, Mugdha made her singing debut with Krsna Vandana, an original composition featuring 108 names and qualities of Lord Krishna. She shares, “This happened thanks to the blessings of my spiritual master Shri Tarneivji. I was introduced to him in 2013 by Rahul (Dev, her partner) and this feels like a miracle. I never thought I could sing and perform live. We (Rahul and I) have penned down our experience in a book and this song is very close to my heart. I did my first concert in Delhi last year and singing this song gives me real happiness.”
She adds, “There is a very different side to me that people are getting to know now. A glamorous person can also be spiritual (smiles).”
‘OTT has come as a blessing for all artistes’
Talking about the impact of OTT platforms in India, Mugdha shares, “It has completely changed the viewing patterns of the audience. Also, it has come as a big blessing for all artistes and makers. Earlier, for instance, filmmakers making art films would be worried, ‘Film theatre mein chalegi ya nahi chalegi?’ But now, thanks to OTT, there is space for all kinds of content. It also offers a comfort zone to viewers, as they can decide what to watch and when, sitting at home.”
She adds, “It has opened up so many new possibilities too. The live streaming of big events, like the Coldplay concert in Ahmedabad, shows the power of OTT platforms and social media. Right now, your social media profile is like your portfolio. If you are a musician, you can put out a song there and it can become a huge hit if it is good, without the need to reach out to the labels. I have an exciting film and some fabulous web series in the pipeline. I am very happy with the way things are shaping up and thanks to OTT, actors are busy all the time.”
