Synopsis
Someday... brings to the screen a period which everyone has gone through. A period of confronting your life and deciding what is happening with it. It is the moment of standing at a crossroad and deciding the purpose and drive to your life. It is a moment which all can identify with – that moment when decisions were made and your life changed forever; when dark clouds parted and the sun came out.We bring to the forefront the dilemma faced by the youth in regard to carving an identity for themselves is concerned. Bombarded by 6 pack abs, fair and lovely cream - the youth of today faces the danger of becoming literally another brick in the wall. The need to break out and do something unique and on your own will is what Someday... stresses- the importance off thinking for yourself no matter what the odds are and more importantly believing in yourself. It resonates with the philosophy to swim against the tide and encourages that being different is not bad-it's being unique.Today the generation gap between parents and the youth only seems to be widening. Someday... highlights this growing issue and illustrates the point of view of the youth. It shows the dangers of this lack of communication and its effect on the youth. Friends replace families and each friend becomes the family the other hungered for. Together the friends become united and realize the importance of parents and leave each other at stages of their lives where their relationships with their parents can only get better.
The dance is fresh, vibrant and is something Audiences have never seen Indians do before. The dance is not 'just thrown in' because it helps bring audiences in to the theatre, or is a good place to go to the toilet…no. It is a critical part of the story- and is the tool our protagonist chooses to communicate to the world. Someday... hopes to have audiences’ hooked- with the new world they are getting a glimpse into. The message of giving people the courage to follow their dreams no matter the odds is not only inspiring but also positive. The quaint university town in England, Sheffield provides the perfect backdrop for this film- a location that has never been shown in Hindi Cinema. It is here, away from home that our protagonist and his friends help each other grow. The film gets into the lives of these Asian students who leave their home and country and go to study abroad, their struggles, their heartbreaks, their trials and triumphs. Life changing experiences coupled with new responsibilities help push our ‘boys’ into the journey of manhood.
