When glamourous beauties went de-glam

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was spotted in an absolute de-glam avatar, joining the shoot of the Sarabjit biopic on the outskirts of Mumbai, reported Mumbai Mirror. The stunning actress was dressed in a simple brown salwar-kurta and chappals, did not have even a trace of make-up and was wearing glasses. The 41-year-old actress will be playing the role of Dalbir Kaur, the sister of the late Sarabjit Singh, who was captured by Pakistan in 1991 and tried on charges of terrorism in 2013.

Even though she decided to give the paint a miss for this Govind Nilhani film, Kareena lit up the screen with her charismatic presence.

Sonam Kapoor: Clad in black khadi kurtas and simple Punjabi suits, Bollywood's very own fashionista, Sonam Kapoor, surprised us with her non-glamorous look in the films like Raanjhanaa and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. Sonam's sartorial choices off screen and her plain Jane look in these two films are as different from each other as chalk and cheese. However, she carries off both looks with equal panache.

Priyanka Chopra: Unlike other actresses who went de-glam for a few films, Priyanka Chopra went a step ahead in Barfi!. The former Miss World sported short cropped hair, a school girl uniform complete with black school shoes for the film. With her impeccable acting and brilliant portrayal of Jhilmil, PeeCee makes even the de-glam avatar look good.

Vidya Balan: While Vidya Balan was never considered glamorous and desirable in the conventional Bollywood way, she still had men drooling after her post The Dirty Picture. However, she scored even when she decided to go de-glam for films like No One Killed Jessica and Kahaani. She topped her make-up free face with a pregnant belly in Kahaani and still didn't give anyone a reason to complain.
