Bhumi Pednekar rubbishes catfight rumours with Taapsee Pannu: We are like soul sisters
Tapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar were the talk of the town recently for their role in ‘Saand Ki Aankh’. Although the two earned praises for their stellar performances, their casting as the ace elderly sharpshooters Chandro Tomar and Prakashi Tomar, kicked off the ageism debate in the industry. But through it all, the two ladies stuck together and often made headlines for shutting down trolls from time to time.
In an interview with ETimes, Bhumi opened up about her equation with her co-star and crushed catfight rumours once and for all, saying that the rumours that made their way onto tabloids was in fact, just a prank. She said, “We played a prank on my director. So the whole idea was an April Fool's day joke. People could not digest the fact that we are such good friends. Taapsee and I are very thick, we're like soul sisters. So it was a joke people could not understand how two heroines were not fighting. We've not had one disagreement.”
Calling her co-star Jhansi Ki Raani, she said, “We've actually stood up for each other. There have been times when she thought somebody was being rude to me. She's is like Jhansi Ki Raani. We both are very opinionated, strong women. That's why we got along.”
After the success of ‘Saand Ki Aankh’, Bhumi is now looking forward to the release of her next romantic comedy, ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’. The film is slated to hit screens this December.
