Trouble on the sets of Bollywood films

According to a report on Mid-day.com, trouble seems to be hovering over Sanjay Leela Bhansali's historical saga Bajirao Mastani, as while shooting one of the action sequences for the film, a mare died on the set. For an action sequence, few animals which included elephants and 18 horses were sent to Rajasthan by Yash Verma of Suyaushka Company on the location of the film, the report stated. While filming the sequence, a young mare banged with a horse and died soon after. It is also said that the mare was unwell for few days and was undergoing a treatment, the report further stated. The report quoted Yash Verma's father, Pappu Verma saying that the mare died a natural death as she fell sick due to weather conditions. In the report, Pappu seemed to be defending the production house as he said that they took good care of the animals and the shooting was called-off after the death of the mare.

According to reports, not everyone was happy with the unexpected downpour on February 28 and the overcast skies on March 1. Sunny Deol saw his unit hands running helter-skelter as rain water started dripping onto the lavish set erected in Kamalistan Studios. The unit was shooting for Ghayal Once Again. Though they did their level best to salvage the situation, it is estimated that the losses may run into crores. To add to their woes, another set standing at Madh Island also suffered. A distressed unit hand said, "Our set at Madh Island has also suffered extensive damage due to gusty winds and rain. We were to shoot there from March 8 onwards, but our shooting will need to be deferred because it will take a while for repairs." Sunny Deol had also hired 100 vehicles to shoot for a scene in a South Mumbai location on March 1 which was a Sunday as the requisite permissions are available only on that day. However, the overcast skies stalled the shoot.

According to a Mumbai Mirror report, the entire set of ABCD: Any Body Can Dance 2 was gutted in fire. Further to reports, the fire broke out in Goregaon's Filmcity on February 26, 2015, at 4:30 pm when Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor were perfecting their moves for Remo D'Souza's musical. The report quoted the director's assistant on condition of anonymity, "The reason for the fire was a bulb which blew up in the ceiling and the butter paper stuck on it caught fire, sparking off a short-circuit. Within seconds the set was engulfed in flames." The report further stated that the team was rehearsing for a dance competition which had Indians battling it out with international troupes, when the fire hit the sets. “There were 700 junior artistes including several foreigners besides Varun, Shraddha, Lauren at the time," the report quoted Remo's assistant. Reportedly, the fire quickly escalated and the whole set, lit up by over a thousand, blinking blue LED lights, was up in flames before the fire engines turned up. "We called the fire brigade immediately but it took them a while to arrive and by the time they doused the fire, the entire set was destroyed. Until 6 pm we could only see the thick smoke, but thankfully, no one was injured," Remo's assistant further said to Mirror.
