‘Padmavat’ to release on January 25

The fate of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavat’ (originally titled as ‘Padmavati’), has now been sealed. Bringing a final close to the unending wait for its release, the film has now been reportedly scheduled to release on January 25, 2018.
However, if the reports are anything to go by, the film will clash with Akshay Kumar’s ‘PadMan’ which is expected to keep the pace of Akki’s several successful patriotic mood films like ‘Airlift’ and ‘Baby’ going.
After reviews and discussions by a special panel and the censor board, the film has reportedly been cleared with U/A certification with runtime of 2 hours and 43 minutes. Meanwhile, Sidharth Malhotra’s ‘Aiyaari’ has been pushed ahead to February 9 to avoid the clash.

Deepika Padukone is the top Bollywood actress who has never lost her top slot ever since she set her foot in the Hindi film industry. The diva who is back in yet another stunning role of Padmavati has portrayed many award-winning roles in some of the biggest commercial hits. 'Om Shanti Om'

Who could have got a better start than Deepika Padukone as she hit the bull’s eye with her debut flick ‘Om Shanti Om’ alongside none other than Shah Rukh Khan. The actress played two different roles in the reincarnation drama and impressed filmmakers, critics, and moviegoers in one go. Her retro role of actress Shanti did not give away any hints of a newcomer as her acting skills made her stand out and helped her win the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.

'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani'

Deepika Padukone played a nerd in ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ though later evolved into a diva upon becoming a successful doctor. The chemistry between former real-life couple Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika worked like magic on the big screen under the direction of Ayan Mukerji. The beautiful love story also had equal space for friendship with catchy dance numbers and touching story that made it one of the most loved movies of all time.

'Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela'

Deepika Padukone’s badass role of a gun-wielding village girl in her first outing with Sanjay Leela Bhansali ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’ was one of a kind and she nailed it completely. The film was a runaway hit, though this too didn’t come without controversies. The sizzling chemistry between Deepika and Ranveer especially in the song ‘Ang laga de’ was spectacular and their out of the world romance amid the constant shadow of fear and echoing of bullets made the movie a must watch.

'Chennai Express'

Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan make up for one of the most successful jodis in Bollywood and their second outing together ‘Chennai Express’ went on to become one of the highest Bollywood grosser of all times. Her traditional, Tamil speaking role of Meenalochni "Meenamma" Azhagusundaram was loved by the audience far and wide. The Rohit Shetty film was a through masala film with catchy dialogues, entertaining screenplay and convincing performances and the lead actors continue to groove to their ‘lungi dance’ at special requests from their fans at events.

'Bajirao Mastani'

Deepika Padukone displayed talent par excellence in her second Sanjay Leela Bhansali film ‘Bajirao Mastani’. The diva not just looked stunning decked up in royal finery but also showed her side of valour as she fought alongside men on the battlefield. A role to die for, Deepika as Mastani won the hearts of the cinema lovers and added another feather to her cap. Be it her dancing skills in songs like ‘Deewani Mastani’ and ‘Mohe rang do laal’, her emotional strength or her sword-fighting, Deepika Padukone was definitely at her very best in this film and deserves to be watched again and again.
