The 100 crore heroines of Bollywood

Kangana Ranaut: Tanu Weds Manu Returns struck gold at the box-office. The film became the first ever film of 2015 to cross the Rs 100 crore mark at the box-office. Kangana's terrific performance as Tanu and Kusum in the sequel of Tanu Weds Manu was widely appreciated and worked well at the box-office as well. Post the success of Queen, Kangana once again carried a film on her shoulders and has proved that times are changing.

Deepika Padukone: She has emerged as one of the most sought-after actresses in the film industry. The actress has tasted success from her very first film opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om. But it wasn't a cakewalk for the actress who had her share of downfalls before bouncing back with hit films. The actress experimented with bold roles in films like Cocktail. She is one of the few actresses whose many films have entered the Rs 100 crore club. Whether it was Chennai Express, Ram Leela, Race 2 or Happy New Year the actress not only took away the Best Actress Award trophies for most of these films but also set new records with the box-office numbers reaching the 100 crore mark.

Kareena Kapoor: The fiery actress has taken many challenges in her career. In fact, even marriage has not stopped her from making it to the elite Rs 100 crore club. With five of her movies having crossed the 100-crore mark including 3 Idiots, Ra.One, Bodyguard, Singham Returns and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Kareena is clearly here to stay.

Katrina Kaif: With her Barbie doll looks, one of the most hardworking actresses of Bollywood, Katrina Kaif might not be very proud of her debut film Boom but she would definitely be proud of how her career graph has shaped up after that. The actress’ pairing with Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan gave her an instant rise. With her charming personality and innocent looks, the actress is ruling hearts of many across all age groups. The actress made an entry into the Rs 100 crore club with Salman Khan starrer Ek Tha Tiger and followed it up with Shah Rukh Khan's Jab Tak Hain Jaan in the same year.

Sonakshi Sinha: The Bindaas actress calls herself heroine of masala films. Out of her six films that she did at the early stage of her career Dabangg, Dabangg 2, Rowdy Rathore and Son Of Sardaar were blockbuster hits and a part of Rs 100 crore club. The actress is considered as a lucky charm by many filmmakers and has taken the box-office by storm as soon as she entered Bollywood. Though many would criticize her for doing only masala films, she has tried to silence critics by experimenting with a film like Lootera as well.

Priyanka Chopra: Whether it is her international music career or bagging a prominent role in a US TV show, Priyanka Chopra has certainly gone places. The Desi Girl has says that she has something new to offer every time she comes on camera. The actress’ performance in her Barfii not only earned her accolades from critics and audiences but the film also made it to the Rs 100 crore club. Agneepath is another film if hers which made 100 crore at the box-office.

Jacqueline Fernandez: The Srilankan beauty has taken the well-defined route from winning a beauty pageant to walking the ramp and then acting in films. Jacqueline has taken the Indian film industry by storm with her style, sense and her glamour quotient. After setting the silver screen on fire with Salman Khan in Kick, Jacqueline is now making her presence felt among the ruling A-listers. Shraddha Kapoor: Making a not so impressive debut at the box-office with Teen Patti to facing ban from still photographers, her journey in Bollywood has not been easy. However, Shraddha Kapoor is making sure that she surpasses new challenge with each passing day. The actress in no time has made a place for herself in the industry. Her films are doing great business at the box-office and with back-to-back Rs 100 crore films like Aashiqui 2, Ek Villain and ABCD 2, even the makers are showing interest in the actress.

Alia Bhatt: With her first film (Student Of The Year) itself, Alia Bhatt proved everyone that she is here to stay and rule. The papa's little princess is giving everyone a run for their money. Her choice of films and the experiment that she has done in the beginning of her career with films like Highway, Alia has proved that good things come in small packages. In such a short span of time, Alia has become a youth sensation. Her Rs 100 crore film includes 2 States, a romantic comedy co-starring Arjun Kapoor. The film which was based on Chetan Bhagat's novel by the same name, did wonders at the ticket window. The film also broke the jinx of Indian novels not becoming successful films.

Sonam Kapoor: Though success didn't come easy to this star daughter, she never gave up on working hard even after a series of flop. Sonam has indeed come a long way in the industry. The actress has carved a niche for herself and told the world that she has something more to her than just fashion sense. She has never shied away from experimenting with roles and that is the reason lady luck finally smiled at her in 2013 and she got the two biggest films of her career so far, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Raanjhana.

Asin: The dusky beauty, who made a smashing entry in Bollywood with Ghajini has been touted as the dark horse since her debut. The actress not only made an impact opposite Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan in her debut film Ghajini but the film also managed to make it to the 100 crore club. This actress has tasted success with not just one, two but three movies - Ghajini, Ready and Housefull 2.
