Shaandaar: Alia Bhatt, Shahid Kapoor share pictures from the sets

Shahid Kapoor: I don't find any similarity between Alia and Kareena

Making his first public appearance after tying the knot with Mira Rajput, Shahid Kapoor was in high spirits at the trailer launch of Vikas Bahl's destination wedding romcom, Shaandaar, reports Mumbai Mirror. But every time a question about the shaadi cropped up, his over protective co-star, Alia Bhatt, jumped in saying, "Shahid's shandaar wedding is over, so the only wedding we should talk about is the one happening in my film." She butted in again, when he was asked about the best gift he received, "We were the shandaar gifts," to which Karan Johar quipped, "Yeah, we packed Alia and sent the gift to Shahid's wedding."

Interestingly, Shahid's dad Pankaj Kapur plays Alia's father for reel. Being a method actor, Pankaj, stayed in character throughout the shoot. "He plays Alia's protective father, and spent much of his time with her, with pakodas and sandwiches for company. He would get jealous if I spoke to Alia for even a minute," Shahid chuckled. Alia's a die-hard Kareena Kapoor fan and comparisons are being drawn between the two. Shahid insisted that this is a big compliment for Alia, since, Kareena is an established actress and has a great body of work. "But I don't find any similarity between the two apart from the fact that both are originals. And I did a love story with Kareena, Jab We Met, and now I'm doing one with Alia," he concluded.

Karan Johar's forthcoming film Shaandaar, which is been directed by Vikas Bahl of Queen fame, will release on Dussera this year. An excited Karan Johar made an announcement on Twitter about Shaandaar's release. He tweeted,"#SHAANDAARonDUSSEHRA..will release on the 22nd of October,2015." [sic] Shaandaar is a romantic film starring Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor. Alia Bhatt responded to Karan Johar's tweet by tweeting, "#SHAANDAARonDUSSEHRA .. 22nd October 2015 !!!! And it's trendinggggggg."[sic] Alia Bhatt made her debut in Bollywood with Karan Johar's Student Of The Year and is again working with him on this film. Shaandaar is a co-production between Karan's Dharma Productions and Phantom Films.

Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are shooting for their upcoming film Shandaar in Leeds. The temperature is freezing cold, but the cast and crew seems to be having a gala time on and off the sets. We stumbled upon a few pictures shared by the celebrities on social media. "SHAANDAAR BEAST !!" wrote Bosco Martis with this picture. Shandaar is a film based on destination wedding. Both, Shahid and Alia, suffer from insomnia in the film.
