Rishi Kapoor has been away from the country for a long time now. The actor, who had informed his fans that he is going to New York for a “medical treatment”, recently revealed that he was getting treated for cancer and that he is now free from the illness.
Rishi recently took to his twitter handle to share a picture with a friend where he can be seen all smiles for the camera as he posed with a friend with an umbrella. He captioned the picture as, ‘If you note,Jairam and me are the only two who have umbrellas ready on a sunny 24* Celsius,New York, waiting for the unpredictable rain.’
A lot of the actor’s Bollywood counterparts, friends and family members visited him during his ongoing treatment. His wife Neetu Kapoor shared all pictures and latest updates about his health with his fans. The senior actor is expected to return back to India soon.
Rishi Kapoor makes an interesting observation about India’s World Cup 2019 cricket team
The BCCI announced the Indian cricket squad for the upcoming World Cup 2019 on Monday. While there has been much debate ever since about the selection for the 15-member squad, led by Virat Kohli, Bollywood star Rishi Kapoor made an interesting observation.
Taking to Twitter, the star shared a photo of the team and wondered why most of the team members sported a beard. Asking if their beards were the key to their strength, much like the biblical character Samson, he was sure they would look “smart and dashing” without it.
“Don’t take this picture as a reference point but why do most of our cricket players sport full facial hair(beards)? All Samson’s?(remember he had his strength in his hair) Surely they look smart and dashing without it. Just an observation!” He said in his tweet.
Rishi is currently in the US undergoing treatment for an undisclosed ailment. Reports suggest that he will soon return to the city and according to his son, Ranbir Kapoor, is wondering if he would be able to get back to work.
Rishi Kapoor dispels rumours of any illness, reveals the reason for his grey hairdo
Rishi Kapoor recently announced that he was heading to the US to seek medical treatment. The tweet left a lot of room for presumptions about the actor’s illness. While brother Randhir Kapoor dismissed all allegations, saying that the family was still awaiting the test results, a video of Rishi enjoying a stroll with Anupam Kher in New York, raised a lot of eyebrows, considering that the star was sporting a grey hairdo.
As rumours began running wild, Rishi stepped forward to dispel any speculation and clear the air about his new aged look. Taking to Twitter, the actor revealed that he dyed his hair grey for his untitled next, directed by Hitesh Bhatia.
“This is to dispel all notions and wrong speculations of my hair turning grey/white overnight. My hair was dyed by Awan Contractor for a film produced by Honey Trehan and Sony pictures directed by Hitesh Bhatia. Film is untitled. Trust this clears the air.”
He also shared the first look of his character “Sharma Ji” from the film and assured fans that he will be back to his original hair colour soon.
While in New York with son Ranbir Kapoor and wife Neetu Kapoor, Rishi played host to Priyanka Chopra and Sonali Bendre, who stopped by to pay him a visit.

The veteran actor, who is quite witty when it comes to his social media posts, shared a throwback picture of the stars holding posters of Sanjay Dutt with 'Sanju we're with you' written on it. This was probably back in the '90s when Dutt was convicted in the arms case and jailed.

Rishi voiced his support towards Abdullah by tweeting, “Farooq Abdhulla Ji, Salaam! Totally agree with you, sir. J&K is ours, and PoK is theirs. This is the only way we can solve our problem. Accept it, I am 65 years old and I want to see Pakistan before I die. I want my children to see their roots. Bas karva Dijiye. Jai Mata Di!”
However, his tweet did not seem to go down too well with netizen who began trolling the star. While some hit back with humorous tweets, others assumed he was intoxicated while posting the tweet. Some others also shared their disappointment saying, “Who is stopping you and your children from visiting Pakistan! You have money & reasons do what you want to do but why to divide Indian state for your sentiments?”
Another posted, “If INDIA needs to part away with POK and KASHMIR just for the sake that you visit pak before you die, only thing we can pray for is your HAPPY JOURNEY…” The social media user went on to say, “Pok and Kashmir was ours n shall always be.. LIKE IT OR NOT.. You have lost all the RESPECT and LOVE from INDIANS.”

Taking to Twitter, the actor wrote that he is not the real hero and that the real heroes are firefighters, police and medics who protect and save people’s lives. This is what he exactly tweeted, “Singing songs, romancing or fighting in films is no Heroism. The real HEROES are the Firefighters, Police and the Medics. I was no hero! Sorry!” The Twitterati have really appreciated his honesty and have praised him in return.
