Silsila

Silsila is a romantic drama directed by the iconic, Yash Chopra. It was the last film to feature Rekha with Amitabh Bachchan, putting an end to their popular pairing on screen and also their alleged off-screen affair. While the movie had an average run at the box-office, it is considered to be one of the best love triangle stories made in Bollywood. Rekha as Chandni and Big B as Amit dazzled the screen with their romance in the film.

Do Anjaane

Do Anjaane was the film from where it all began. It is a 1976 Hindi drama-thriller. The film starred Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha, Prem Chopra, Pradeep Kumar, Utpal Dutt. Rekha portrayed the role of an ambitious woman who sacrifices the happiness of her husband and family for being famous. Amitabh played the role of the man who is cheated by both - his wife and his best friend.

Mr. Natwarlal

Mr. Natwarlal is an action-comedy about a conman seeking revenge. The film featured Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha, Ajit Khan and Amjad Khan in the lead roles. Rekha played Shanno, the love interest of Natwar in the film. Amitabh Bacchan and Rekha yet again set the screen ablaze with their sweltering hot romance in the movie. ‘Pardesiya…yeh sach...,’ song from the film became a rage and continues to be.

Muqaddar Ka Sikandar

Muqaddar Ka Sikandar belonged entirely to Amitabh Bachchan but Rekha outshone him as the nautch girl, Zohra, who sacrifices her life down for the only man she has ever fallen in love with. No one can forget Rekha and her mujra in the song, ‘Salaam-e-ishq.’ The song has been a trendsetter of sorts for other mujra numbers in films. The death scene, where Zohra breathes her last in the arms of her beloved, is one of the most intense scenes to have ever been filmed in Bollywood and is cherished even today.

Suhaag

Suhaag is a 1979 drama film from Bollywood, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Rekha, and Parveen Babi. The movie, which had all the ingredients of action, comedy, romance and adventure, was a super hit at the box-office. Rekha and Amitabh Bachchan as Amit and Basanti, were appealing as the much in love couple. ‘Atharaa baras ki…’ is still a favourite with their fans.
