Adira Chopra is the new entrant in the star kids club and the Chopras are all set to welcome her home. After being hospitalized over health issues, actress Rani Mukerji was blessed with a baby girl, Adira. Named after the initials of Aditya and Rani. The Chopras will be hosting a mahapooja so as to seek the blessings of the Gods, as reported by Pinkvilla.com.

Rani Mukerji was expected to have a Bengali version of godh bharai for her pregnancy, claims a report on DNA. It states that the actress wanted to have a shaad or shaad-bhakkhan combined with a godh bharai, instead of a westernised baby shower. Shaad is a pre-birth ceremony that is celebrated by Bengalis, in which the mother-to-be is pampered with her favourite food, while godh bharai is celebrated to welcome the unborn baby into the family. Considering that the actress opted for a traditional Bengali wedding, it is no surprise that she wanted to have a traditional baby shower as well.

The actress, who was hospitalised following a minor complication, was contemplating having her baby outside the country or so claims a DNA report. Apparently, Rani was planning on taking an extended maternity leave. She reportedly wanted to nestle herself in some foreign country for her baby's birth. A source has been quoted in the report as saying that it was Rani's wish to get married in Italy and Aditya fulfilled it and likewise, it was her wish to have her baby abroad too.

Rani Mukerji was spotted partying with the who's who of the industry at Bollywood's Diwali bashes. However, seems like the revelries have exhausted her. According to a Mid-day report, the pregnant actress had to be hospitalised over the weekend as she was extremely tired and was advised bed rest. Confirming the reports, Rani's spokesperson was quoted in the report as saying that, Rani Mukerji was admitted to a hospital as the doctor felt she needed to rest for a few days under medical supervision. The spokesperson further reveals that she was being discharged, but chose to rest it the hospital for a few more days as the baby's room is being prepared at home and she wanted to be away from the dust and noise.

The report states that due to her reported pregnancy, she is barely seen in the film circuit, and this is termed to be the reason why the soft drink brand replaced Rani with Shruti Haasan.
