Salman Khan is putting in a lot of efforts to make his character in his upcoming release, Sultan, as real as possible. And the latest update on the movie is that actor Randeep Hooda, who was last seen in Main Aur Charles has been signed to play Salman Khan's wrestling coach, reports DNA.com. Quoting a source, the report states that director Ali Abbas Zafar was searching for someone to play Salman’s wrestling coach and the role needed someone who is tall with a good physique and persona. Salman felt that Randeep was apt for the role, and hence recommended his name. The team then approached Randeep and he agreed to come on board. Moreover, Salman Khan is very fond of Randeep and his quirky way of talking.

Randeep Hooda: I never wanted to do a ‘Raj’ of Bollywood

Actor Randeep Hooda says that he never dreamt of playing the quintessential lover boy of Bollywood films. The 39-year-old Main Aur Charles actor will be next seen enacting the life of Charles Sobhraj in the same film, which is based on Sobhraj’s famous Tihar jail break of 1986. Speaking to PTI about his choice of roles, the reticent actor said “To play Raj (lover) in every movie has never been my ambition and it will never be. I try not to repeat myself even though people say you have done a lot of cop roles… I just say one thing ‘is every journalist the same? Then how can every cop be the same?” He further elaborated, saying “For every role that I play whether it is in Highway, Rangrasiya or Once Upon a Time, my thrill is to experience something new and discover something new about myself.”

Randeep Hooda, in an interview with Filmfare, has spoken up about young girls and his single status. About young girls, he said that he doesn’t like them and finds them annoying. He asserted that they talk too much and have no idea about sexuality. He added that they are overtly cute and unnecessarily insensitive. However, he finds his single status confusing and about the same, he said that his status is in perennial sense of confusion and he is one of those unlucky people.

Randeep Hooda, one of the most underrated Bollywood actors, is now giving the Khans and the Kapoors a run for their money. The actor is riding high on the accolades garnered for playing the painter Raja Ravi Varma in the film Rang Rasiya. His diverse choice of roles is noteworthy. From playing a kidnapper in Highway to a police officer in Kick, the master of mystery, Randeep has a lot more to his multi-faceted personality. Read on to know the actor's secrets.

Randeep Hooda was a lonely child as his parents stayed away from him, in the Middle East. He spent his childhood with his maternal grandmother whom he called strict and sometimes bitter in an interview. In the interview, he also revealed that from the age of six, his mother would stick a bib on his chest that read 'unaccompanied child' on a flight back to India. As revealed in the interview, Randeep still feels uncomfortable visiting friends in their parents’ presence.

The report further stated that Randeep Hooda had his own share of childhood struggles. He was active in theatre at his boarding school in Sonepat, but was sent to DPS as his parents wanted him to become a doctor. He turned mischievous and adopted a rather rough attitude out of frustration. As a matter-of-fact, he did it all - from drinking and smoking to bunking and dating. He was apparently addressed as ‘Randeep Don Hooda’ at his school farewell. He had reportedly developed the 'Jat boy complex' and was quite powerful.

Randeep Hooda was reportedly in a relationship with former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen from 2006 to 2008. The two apparently fell in love on the sets of Karma Aur Holi which also starred international supermodel Naomi Capmbell. Post the break-up, he had confessedvthat ending their relationship changed his career. He called the break-up as the best thing that had happened to him, as he realised that he gave it too much time. The split freed his energy to do things for himself.

Randeep Hooda, a Rohtak born Jat, then dated actress Neetu Chandra. The two were together for three years from 2010 to 2013 before they called it quits. In the meantime, he was also linked to his Murder 3 co-star Aditi Rao Hydari owing to their regular public appearances during the film’s promotions. The actor does not like to discuss his personal life and likes his work to speak for him.

Taking a grip on his life, Randeep Hooda moved to Australia for higher studies but failed in the first year. Finally he did his graduation in marketing and masters in business management and human resource management from Melbourne. The actor did several odd jobs from working in a Chinese restaurant, car-washing, dish-washing, becoming a beach life-guard, being a waiter and taxi driver for survival. Randeep however returned to India to fulfill his childhood dream of acting.

Randeep Hooda insists that he chooses roles which other actors won't do. He is fascinated by challenging roles and has often played grey characters with finesse.
