Months after the release of Rahul Dholakia’s ‘Raees’ starring Shah Rukh Khan and Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, the director shared one of the deleted scenes on his Twitter account. The scene in question shows SRK’s character sharing a sweet moment with his wife Aasiya (Mahira Khan) and their newborn son. When SRK’s character Raees tries to pacify his newborn child who is wailing, Mahira offers to help and takes the child in her arms. What follows is a warm moment between the trio. Rahul posted the video with the caption, “This was the first scene after intermission to establish Raees as a father and his new rise.”

The director also shared another deleted scene from the movie, in which Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s character Majmudar raids Raees’ work place. Rahul tweeted, “One of my most favourite scene- all departments excelled; was a very very tough call to edit it out! Scene hazir hai.”

Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ continues to be an unstoppable force at the box-office. The Rahul Dholakia-directed film, which is currently in its second week, minted Rs 6.6 crore on Friday (Day 10). With this, the total collection of the film in domestic market has shot up to Rs 128.96 crore.

After the unfortunate Uri attack that claimed lives of 19 soldiers, all Pakistani artistes came under the political radar and were asked to return to their home country, which they have already complied with. Filmmakers who had cast them in their films and the ones who were planning to cast them in their future directorials are obviously upset. And the makers of Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Raees' too are not an exception. Since their leading lady has returned to Pakistani, the makers are in a fix and finding it difficult to shoot crucial scenes and song sequences that require Mahira. According to the latest reports, while the most crucial opening sequence, which was initially supposed to be shot with SRK and Mahira together, will now be shot with SRK alone, the bigger problem lies in shooting song sequences which cannot be shot without Mahira. Hence, the makers will now have to shoot the song and dance sequences with SRK and Mahira at a foreign location because there is no way they will be allowed to shoot with a Pakistani actor in India, at least in the near future. And that will obviously shoot up the production cost considerably!

Shah Rukh Khan and his ‘Raees’ producer Ritesh Sidhwani, braved the Mumbai rains late last night, to sit down for a discussion with ‘Kaabil’ producer Rakesh Roshan at his Juhu residence. According to reports, SRK and Ritesh visited Roshan Sr to discuss their films’ clash at the box office on 26 January, 2017.

This meeting comes just days after Shah Rukh expressed his eagerness to avoid the clash. At a recent event, he was quoted as saying, “We have spoken to Hrithik and also Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar (producers of 'Raees'). That was a month ago, but I guess now we can do some adjustments. Rakeshji ('Kaabil' producer), Ritesh and Farhan will be meeting again. We are trying to figure things out, so we don’t have a clash.”

Although the outcome of the meeting is yet to be made public, Shah Rukh was seen leaving with a broad smile across his face. He later took to his twitter handle to say, "Met friend/mentor/family after many a days. Mr. R.Roshan reminded me…it’s not important to do 2 much, it’s important to get 1 right. Thx sir."

We are not really bothered about who is signing these Pakistanis in their films. Karan Johar, Farhan Akhtar, Shah Rukh Khan etc. are responsible citizens and they should not cast Pakistanis in their film" Shiv Sena had also prevented legendary Pakistani singer Ghulam Ali from performing in Mumbai.

The report quotes a source from the sets of the film saying that Shah Rukh and Mahira were shooting a sweet romantic scene, which needed the actor to come close to her and hold her hand. It states that he was also supposed to kiss the actress on her shoulder to show affection, but because the actress is from an industry which doesn’t believe in such proximity, even when it is a romantic scene, the actress allegedly got a little apprehensive on the sets. However, as the report mentions, SRK like a sweetheart sat with her and tried to understand her uneasiness. It has been reported that Mahira managed to do the scene after that. Why was the shoot of ‘Raees’ delayed?

The last shooting schedule of Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees has been pushed to December or so claims a report on Mid-day.com. A source in the report has been quoted as saying that the team wanted to roll from September 1, 2015 but it was not possible due to SRK’s date issues. The source also revealed that the fresh schedule was yet to be worked out and that they will now have to wait till December. The report also quotes a source close to Shah Rukh as saying that SRK’s knee surgery wasn’t what had caused the delay as the surgery wasn’t scheduled to clash with the shoot.

Several films are announced but then they (release dates) are moved too," Ritesh said ahead of their film Bangistan. Ritesh added, "Eid is next year and our film just has 20 days of shooting left. We're working so that the film comes on Eid, because it is that kind of a film. Even they (the 'Sultan' team) will try for a similar plan, but first let the shooting of their film begin and then we'll see. There is no specific intention to have a clash."

'We don't want a Pakistani film here'

Shah Rukh Khan's Raees co-star, Mahira Khan, was set to give Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan competition with her Pakistani film, Bin Roye, this Friday (July 17, 2015). But the actress from across the border has been stonewalled by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena and will have to wait till next Eid to be unveiled in the state, reports Mumbai Mirror. Her upcoming film will not open in Maharashtra, the report stated. Confirming this, Ameya Khopkar, President of the Maharashtra Navnirman Chitrapat Karmachari Sena, the film wing of the MNS, was quoted saying, "We opposed the release of the film in Maharashtra since it is a Pakistani film. They have agreed to our demand and it is a victory for us. We don't want a Pakistani film here when they are attacking us." Duraid Qureshi, CEO of Hum Network and husband of the film's producer Momina Qureshi, was taken aback by the news. He was quoted in the report as saying, "It's a love story and has been cleared by the Indian censor board." When told that it had nothing to do with the censors and everything to do with politics which was opposed to a cultural exchange between the two countries he retorted, "But the cultural exchange is already there? Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is singing in India, Bajrangi Bhaijaan will release here and Shah Rukh Khan is doing a film with Mahira. I don't understand this kind of politics."

Pakistani actress Mahira Khan will soon make her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in his upcoming film Raees. The actress, who has romanced Fawad Khan and hosted a KJo-like TV show, will clash with Salman Khan at the box office. "I'm told that Bajrangi Bhaijaan has some Pakistani elements which could become an issue even though Indian films always play to packed theatres here," she reasoned. "One of our really big hits, Waar, couldn't be released in your country (India) because of some Indian elements. It's what I call 'cinema politics'," she was quoted in the report.

Teaming his bushy retro moustache with a pair of colourful aviators and a black jacket, Khan is seen sporting a vintage look in the picture. Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film Raees is no joyride for the star. The actor was already facing health issues due to his knee injury, but was managing the shoot somehow. And the arrival of monsoon in Mumbai has played a spoilsport too. Reportedly, a huge set was erected in Filmcity to shoot few action scenes for the film, but the rains seem to have destroyed it all. A visibly dejected SRK tweeted, “Feel awful the whole of Raees team fighting against rain & time…my injury hampering Ravi Varma, Rahul & Maneka even more. Damn!” [sic]

Moreover, SRK’s knee doesn’t seem to be in good shape. Know why this is a serious health concern for the actor…

Shah Rukh Khan underwent an arthroscopic surgery of the left knee on May 21, 2015. The doctor stated that the surgery was successful and also advised him complete rest for 3-4 days. Dr Sanjay Desai, who operated on Shah Rukh said in a statement, "SRK has undergone arthroscopic surgery of the left knee at Breach Candy hospital. Mr Khan has been suffering from repeated pain and swelling of left knee over the last several months. Today's surgery confirms chondral wear of the patella, which is due to repeated injuries over the last few years. Based on today's arthroscopic evaluation, future management will be planned. He has recovered well and is likely to be discharged tomorrow (May 22, 2015)." The actor will be on a break following his discharge, and will resume work soon. He will resume shooting for Raees which also marks the Bollywood debut of Mahira Khan.

Still having access to Twitter while on a road to recovery, Shah Rukh tweeted, "Do they do Fequent Fliers Miles in Hospitals? If yes, I would own some of the hospitals! Thx all for standing by me as I pray on my knees…" [sic]

Interestingly, the film has an elaborate set as the makers are recreating the Ahmedabad of 1980s as suggested by reports. After Om Shanti Om and Happy New Year, Shah Rukh Khan will once again go shirtless for Raees. The actor even posted a photo of him showing off his chiselled contours on Twitter along with an interesting caption. "Raees shoot going great, smiles all around. & main apne dukh ko doobane ke liye gym jaata hoon & get into this body...," [sic] he wrote. A DNA report quoted SRK's personal trainer Prashant Sawant saying that the actor worked out rigorously for six months. Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, who rose to fame with her television serial Humsafar, makes her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Raees. According to reports, SRK himself dropped in at the audition to meet this VJ-turned-actress, Mahira. The actress is married to her college sweetheart Ali Askari. And though she is based out of Karachi, the articulate girl with the porcelain complexion is known to be travelling extensively.

While Rahul Dholakia approached Shah Rukh Khan for the role, the actor expressed surprise over the fact that not many filmmakers dare to make films like Raees these days. According to a report on Pinkvilla.com, talking about Raees, Shah Rukh claimed that even though he hadn't rehearsed for the film, he was confident that no one would be able to do justice to his character in the film, like him. King Khan has been quoted in the report saying that while his statement sounded extremely arrogant, he was humble at the same time.

Shah Rukh Khan has been very excited about Raees and had been constantly in touch with producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. The actor, who is known for always arriving late on the movie sets, has been reaching before time every day. Reports suggested that while the call time is 11 am, SRK has been reaching an hour prior, that is at 10 am. And this positive energy and exuberance of the actor has surely been transferring to the other people present on the sets too. A source from the sets had been quoted in the report as saying that when Shah Rukh reached early for the first time, the team panicked as they thought they made a coordination error.

Apart from a chiselled torso, Shah Rukh Khan will also be seen sporting a new hairdo in Raees. Tousled and ruffled, that’s what SRK's look in the film is all about. At the launch of Dabboo Ratnani's annual calendar, Shah Rukh Khan had said, "Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Mahira Khan are there in the film (Raees). Both of them are very accomplished actors. I think the cast is really wonderful. Now I would have to excel and perform like them." The actor has already met Mahira and was all praise for her as he said, "Rahul (Dholakia) liked her. She suited the film a lot. I have seen a little bit part of her television stuff. I have met her and she is a marvellous actor."
