Priyanka Chopra breaks silence on her “secret marriage”

Priyanka Chopra who has earned fame and accolades owing to her hard work, recently paid a visit to India for promoting Assam tourism. She had shared several glimpses of herself while she was on her trip to Assam, one of them which got her mired in a controversy. In a picture where she was on board in her flight, she had donned a bracelet which caught the attention of netizens.

What looked like a mangalsutra bracelet, everyone speculated that PeeCee has secretly got married. However, it was only later when Priyanka clarified that she was wearing an evil eye bracelet with black and gold beads, that the rumour mills stopped spinning. She had tweeted, “Hahahah!heights of speculation! This is an evil eye guys! Calm down! I’ll tell u when I get married and it won’t be a secret! Lol"

Recently, Priyanka was asked about the controversy revolving around her relationship status. She told the magazine about the Hindu tradition which involves a lot of traditions including sindoor on the forehead. She also spoke about mangalsutra and explained that it's a necklace that women wear, which has black and gold stones, plus it’s also an evil eye. Talking about the person who clicked the picture, she quipped that the bracelet looks like a hair tie, which was zoomed in so much.

Rubbishing the reports around her “secret marriage”, Priyanka professed that she isn’t married and when she does get married, the world will get to know.

Priyanka Chopra terminates her contract with Nirav Modi's jewellery brand

In the wake of the controversy surrounding the infamous scam involving Nirav Modi and Punjab National Bank, Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra, who also happens to be the global ambassador for the international scion's jewellery brand has terminated her contract with the brand. Priyanka's spokesperson on Friday stated, "In light of recent allegations, Priyanka Chopra has chosen to terminate her contract with the Nirav Modi brand".

Reports suggest that besides PeeCee, Sidharth Malhotra, who featured in a diamond ad campaign for Nirav, has also sought legal advice to terminate his contract.

According to the CBI, Nirav left India on January 1, days before CBI issued lookout circulars against the celebrated designer and his wife Ami, an American citizen, who left India on January 6.

Priyanka Chopra's picture for Assam tourism sparks controversy

Global star Priyanka Chopra, who was recently dragged into the ongoing Nirav Modi row, has found herself tangled again in an unwitting controversy. This time around, the former beauty queen has reportedly become the target of political parties who have raised objections against her latest Assam tourism calendar shoot.
Citing the actress' outfit to be inappropriate and immodest, Congress MLAs Nandita Das and Rupjyoti Kurmi were among those expressing their displeasure stating that the government should "preserve the prestige of the Assamese society."
They also questioned why the star did not feature in the traditional Assamese attire and suggested that she be removed from the tourism campaign and be replaced with a "talented Assamese actor."
However, reports also state that the Assam Tourism Development Corporation does not see anything wrong with the picture, as the calendar was made to promote the state internationally. Defending Priyanka, they went on to state that the actress' presence has not "diminished Assam’s culture" in any way.
Meanwhile, on the professional front, Priyanka is busy shooting for the third season of her television show 'Quantico'.

Priyanka Chopra sues Nirav Modi over non-payments of dues

Global star Priyanka Chopra, who starred in a romantic advertisement for a luxury jewellery brand alongside Bollywood's heartthrob Sidharth Malhotra, has reportedly dragged the owner of the brand, Nirav Modi to court over non-payment of dues.

Priyanka's legal team has reportedly charged him with defrauding the actress and not paying her, her dues for an endorsement deal also featuring Sidharth Malhotra.

Sidharth is also reportedly heading down the legal route and is allegedly set to cut off all ties with the brand. According to reports, the hunk signed on for a three advertisement deal with the brand but only shot of one ad opposite Priyanka.

This news comes shortly after the billionaire's name turned up in Punjab National Banks' Rs 11,000 crore fraud which has lead the Enforcement Directorate to organise searches at the jewellery designer's estates in India after a Rs 280 crore money laundering case was filed against him.

National Award winning director terms Priyanka Chopra's maiden production in Bhojpuri as ‘extremely obscene'

Priyanka Chopra's first movie as a producer has apparently left regional cinema furious over its 'raunchy and obscene' content. The Bhojpuri movie titled 'Bam Bam Bol Raha Hai Kashi' was released on Friday, 10th June, but was dubbed as extremely 'cheap and vulgar.' However, calling it the content requirements of regional cinema, Priyanka said that she herself is fond of such 'lakte-jhatkes.' National Award winning director Nitin N Chandra lashed out at PC by calling the movie extremely obscene and said that PC has not only "defamed herself" but also "besmirched her Padma Shri" by producing a movie like this. He further added he will write an open letter to her. However, this did not deter Priyanka from being felicitated by the Bihar government at a ceremony organised by the Bihar State Film Development Corporation recently.

According to a report on In.movies.yahoo.com Priyanka Chopra who is currently occupied with Quantico, was approached by Ferrari Ki Sawaari’s director Rajesh Mapuskar with the script of a Marathi drama. PeeCee was very impressed by the script and agreed to produce it under her banner Purple Pebble Pictures. However she suggested a few changes in the script but Rajesh did not want to make these changes. The report adds that Rajesh thought the script was fine and that Priyanka wants to add and substract elements to make it more palatable. The report further mentioned that a source close to Priyanka's company said that the project hasn't finalised after these differences cropped up between the two of them. The source also adds that since there is no legal binding; the director is pitching the script to other producers as well and that Priyanka will take a final call when she returns to India, further adding that right now the chances of collaboration look bleak.
