The 43-year-old posted, &ldquo;To all those speculating about my &#39;love&#39; life-am fiercely single &amp; that&#39;s the way I intend to stay&rdquo;. Further talking about the matter, she tweeted, &ldquo;If love happens, in such a graceless age you will hear it from me... not some tabloid going into information overload&rdquo;. The <em>Jism 2</em> director even said that her reason of reacting to these rumours is telling the world that she did not want to accept any loose talk. In another tweet, she said, &ldquo;Did not want to dignify rumours by reacting to them but seems that my silence is seeming like my acceptance of loose talk&rdquo;. Pooja Bhatt was a prominent actress of the '90s with hits like Daddy, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, Sadak and Zakhm to her credit. Pooja also worked with big names from B-town including Aamir Khan, Sanjay Dutt and Shah Rukh Khan. But she disappeared from the industry without a trace. But here's some good news for fans of the actress. She is set to make her comeback with Reema Kagti's Mr. Chaalu. She is the older daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and Kiran Bhatt (born Loraine Bright). She is half Gujarati and half Muslim from her father's side and has an English, Scottish, Armenian, and Burmese Kashmiri ancestry from her mother's side. Apart from Rahul Bhatt, who is her real brother, she has step siblings, actress Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt. Pooja is also related to Emraan Hashmi, who is her cousin. According to an IANS report, Pooja spoke about her relationship with half-sister, Alia, stating that the two were proud of each other and if they got an opportunity, they would also work together.

Pooja married her long-time boyfriend Munish Makhija in 2003. Manish, also known as Udham Singh, is a host with Channel V. But after 11 years of marriage, the two headed for a divorce. Pooja chose to clarify the reason for the divorce on micro-blogging site, Twitter, where she posted, "I choose to live life on MY terms & refuse to perform to the gallery. Certificates don't make or break marriages & relationships! Life does! To all those who care & especially those that don't my husband Munna & Me have decided to part ways after 11 glorious years of marriage. Our split as some might call it is amicable & we hold each other in the highest esteem for now and forever. The reason I explain Is because we are both part of the public domain. She made her acting debut at the age of 17 with the TV film, Daddy, directed by her father Mahesh Bhatt. Pooja also launched her own production company, 'Pooja Bhatt Productions' in 1996. As a director, she has five films to her credit including Holiday (2006), Dhokha (2007), Kajraare (2010) and Jism 2 (2012). Pooja also appeared in a documentary titled, Sunset Bollywood (2005) in which she spoke about the 1990s sensation, Rahul Roy. In 1997, she won the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues for Tamanna. She also won the Filmfare Face of the Year Award for Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin. As per a report on Hindustanlink.com, Pooja dreamt of becoming an astronaut.

Pooja is also related to Suneel Darshan, whose father married Mahesh Bhatt's elder sister Sheila. Apart from that, Pooja has many other Bollywood connections. Director Milan Luthria is her cousin as Milan's grandmother and Pooja Bhatt's grandmother are sisters. Pooja was also engaged to actor Ranvir Shorey and reportedly had called off the their relationship due to his abusive behaviour. Pooja confessed to Tehelka.com that she was in a relationship with an alcoholic, who also beat her up. According to a report in DNA, Pooja was miffed with the Akshay Kumar-starrer Holiday - A Soldier Is Never Off Duty as she too had released a film titled Holiday in 2006.

Pooja is close friends with actor Sharad Kapoor and Pooja's tweets are a proof of this.
She writes, "To one of the coolest men that walked the planet-@sharadkkapoor Happy Birthday meri JAAN.Love you to death & beyond!" She also bonds with her gang of boys. Tweeting about the same, she posts, "Holding back the years" too many movies,foibles,failures & successes revisited! Glad to be alive! When all else fails, there are the BOYS! Bring on the night! Mukul Dev.[sic]

Both Sharad Kapoor and Mukul Dev starred in the film Dastak, which was produced and directed by Mahesh Bhatt.
