Motivational Bollywood songs that will make you hit the gym

Going to the gym on a daily basis can be a daunting task. It requires a lot of motivation and discipline and to provide motivation, there is nothing better than music to get the blood pumping. Fortunately, Bollywood films are replete with many such energetic tracks that not only set the perfect tempo but also boost confidence and provide motivation with uplifting lyrics. So here is a look at some of the best uplifting and high energy songs that Hindi films have to offer that are a must-have in your gym playlist…

2/9

'Sultan' title song

Salman Khan gave one of his finest performances in the sports drama film 'Sultan'. The title track from the movie is like the perfect icing on the cake. With pumping electric guitars and drums from Vishal and Shekhar setting the tempo, it is impossible to not get pumped up listening to this track. Other than the music, the wonderful voice of Sukhwinder Singh is super motivating that will definitely push anyone to go the extra mile. Moreover, Salman literally works out in the entire song, making it a staple track for the gym.

3/9

'Zinda’ song from ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag'

Being a biopic on the Flying Sikh Milkha Singh, there was bound to be one amazing track. This film has not one but two such songs 'Zinda' and 'Bhaag', the former being more famous. 'Zinda' is a rock track from Shankar Ehsaan Loy with vocals from the young and vivacious Sidharth Mahadevan. Not only is the song super inspiring with its electrifying music and lyrics but it also features the lead Farhan Akhtar showing off his chiseled body in all its glory, making for an added motivation booster.

4/9

'Chak De! India' title track

The movie 'Chak De! India' was empowering to not only women in sports, but to everyone who wishes to make something out of their lives. The title track of the Shah Rukh Khan starrer is a staple motivation song for all circumstances, including the times when you are sweating it out in the gym. Sukhwinder Singh’s energetic and intense voice always acts as an ultimate booster that will make people push themselves harder. An epic background score from Salim Sulaiman compliments his vocals perfectly as a song that demands you to go hard or go home.

5/9

'Lakshya' title track

The title track from the Hrithik Roshan starrer is pure gold in terms of sheer strength that it can provide to anyone who listens to it. Of course, being such a deep and super inspiring track, it acts as a great gym song that will give you goosebumps thanks to Javed Akhtar’s poetic lyrics. Music composer Shankar Ehsaan and Loy have smartly kept the music to a minimum so that the focus is more on the words and Shankar’s magnetic voice. 'Lakshya' is a song that gifts its listeners a sense of clarity and focus, much like Hrithik’s characters in the film.

6/9

'Brothers Anthem’ from ‘Brothers'

This remake of the acclaimed Hollywood film 'Warrior' has plenty of awe-inspiring moments, but none have as much impact as this title track from the film. The 'Brothers Anthem' as it is called is a pure workout motivation video that shows both the leads Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra hitting the gym hard as they train for a big fighting tournament. As if the video is not enough, it also has Vishal Dadlani’s amazing vocals to back it up with a really catchy and uplifting chorus and lyrics. Overall, this track is a must listen in the gym and is already popular among those who regularly pump iron.

7/9

'Paintra’ from ‘Mukkabaaz'

A rather unconventional track for working out, 'Paintra' is still pretty effective at getting people pumped. Composed by the talented Indian EDM artist Nucleya, this track from 'Mukkabaaz' is a gritty-yet-motivating number that can really make you go another round. Rapper Divine will have your complete attention with his rather hard-hitting voice armed with the brilliant lyrics written by Vineet Kumar Singh. Also, seeing what an incredible body the lead actor built for his role can act as an additional fuel to the fire.

8/9

'Malhari’ from ‘Bajirao Mastani'

'Malhari' is as manly as a song can get for the song’s energy level is just insane. The best part about this track is the tempo, which is really intense, energetic and is perfect for an extreme workout. On top of that, there is Vishal Dadlani’s magical voice that breathes even more life into an already super lively track. And who can forget Ranveer Singh’s dance moves and screen presence in the song which literally makes 'Malhari' a high energy song on steroids!

9/9

'Khalibali’ from ‘Padmaavat'

Jokingly called the evil twin of 'Malhari', 'Khalibali' is a great song to pump iron to in and of itself. The tempo although slower, it seems to have more intensity than the other song it is often compared to. Moreover, the beat is steady and paced perfectly which makes working out to this track a real easy affair. Shivam Pathak, who has sung this track is no Vishal Dadlani, but holds his own which added with a super catchy chorus in between, makes it a song that you will listen to, on repeat!
