Manjhi - The Mountain Man: Highlights of the film

Manjhi - The Mountain Man is based on the life of Dashrath Manjhi, a poor labourer hailing from Gehlaur village in Gaya district, widely known as the Mountain Man. He had laid a road through the mountain using only hammer and chisel in memory of his wife who passed away without medical treatment, as travel to the nearest hospital took a lot of time due to the mountain. The film is directed by Ketan Mehta. Nawazuddin Siddiqui has enacted the role of Dashrath Manjhi, while Radhika Apte has played Manjhi's wife. The film is scheduled for a release on August 21, 2015.

Manjhi - The Mountain Man tax-free in Bihar

According to an IANS report, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that the government of eastern Indian state of Bihar has made Manjhi - The Mountain Man tax free in the state. "The Bihar government has already announced to waive off tax on the film Manjhi - The Mountain Man," Kumar told reporters on the sidelines of ‘Janata Ke Darbar me Mukhya Mantri’ programme.

Manjhi - The Mountain Man exempted from entertainment tax in UP

According to a PTI report, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav announced that Ketan Mehata-directed film Manjhi - The Mountain Man, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, would be exempted from entertainment tax, an official spokesman said. Siddiqui and Mehta met the Chief Minister and requested him to exempt the movie from tax, the spokesman said. Speaking on the occasion, Akhilesh said that there were immense possibilities of film production in UP. He said the government has formulated an attractive and simple policy, which was promoting film production in the state. The CM said that the new policy has attracted a number of producers to UP and fresh proposals were being received. He said that to promote film production work on two new film cities was underway.

Ten days before release, a leaked Manjhi's all over the net!

The trailer of Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer Manjhi – The Mountain Man went viral on social media last month with people commenting that they have felt goosebumps and can't wait to watch the film. But of course, they didn't want their wait to end so soon, at least not this way. Cine buffs who were waiting for the release of the film were shocked when the full movie was leaked online, 10 days ahead of its official release. According to reports, this is the third time a film's copy sent to the CBFC has been leaked in the last few months. It is not clear at which stage it was leaked, but it is said that the film is going to suffer a huge revenue loss as a result of this.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui meets MP CM after premiere in Bhopal

Nawazuddin Siddiqui met Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan after the premiere of Manjhi - The Mountain Man in Bhopal. According to an ANI report, the actor was accompanied by helmer Ketan Mehta and the duo discussed about the film with the Chief Minister. Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte are busy promoting the film. Radhika was earlier seen in the Varun Dhawan-starrer Badlapur, and opposite Gulshan Devaiah in Hunterrr.
