Gabbar is Back: What makes this Akshay Kumar film special?

Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali have apparently invited the ire of The Indian Medical Association (IMA), an umbrella body of doctors practising modern medicine, reports Jagran.com. IMA has reportedly decided to serve a legal notice to them for allegedly portraying the medical profession in poor light in their film Gabbar is Back. The report quoted an official of the IMA saying that the producer and actor have shown the medical profession in a wrong way and that people may lose faith in this noble profession. Having more than 2.5 lakh members across India, IMA reportedly sent a letter to the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Arun Jaitley complaining that the film projected the medical profession in a bad light, and demanded that the objectionable scenes be immediately removed from the film, the report stated. It also demanded that the film's screening be suspended till those scenes are not removed, concluded the report.

Gabbar is Back: What makes this Akshay Kumar film special?

With Gabbar Is Back doing well upon release, Akshay Kumar can finally breathe easy. The actor seems to have reached the zenith of his career. And the star himself dropped a hint of his success by sharing a picture on his Facebook account. The Khiladi has had a string of hit releases like Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty, Baby and now Gabbar Is Back. He shared the picture of a poster of his latest release being adorned with a garland that was so huge, they had to use a crane to lift it. He captioned the picture as, “Just when I felt you'll have given me enough love, you'll go ahead & do this...hire a crane to garland my poster!Never felt so loved! Thank u a million times over ‪#‎GabbarIsBack.” [sic] This practice is commonplace when a Rajinikanth film is released. It seems like Akshay Kumar is inching closer to the superstar.

Street promotions

Gabbar Is Back is the story of a common man who fights corruption in his own style. Therefore, Akshay Kumar took a break from his star life to travel by public transport like a common man for the film’s promotion. From boarding a taxi to renting an auto, Akshay and Shruti Haasan hit the road to share Gabbar’s message. Not only this, the actor also interacted with the senior citizens at the Nana Nani park, played gully cricket with the boys, took part in street play as Gabbar to the common man.

Visual-audio treat

Akshay Kumar’s sparkling chemistry with Shruti Haasan is like a whiff of fresh air and their romantic number 'Teri meri kahaani' is an audio-visual treat for the music lovers. Beautifully shot in the rain, the cinematography of the song is soothing to the nerves, much like the Twilight effect. Not only this, the violent film with a strong message has been balanced by another romantic song, 'Coffee peetay peetay' starring Shruti Haasan, and Chitrangada Singh’s scorching item number, 'Aao Raja.'

The iconic Gabbar

Akshay Kumar brings back the dreaded Gabbar, from Sholay, to kill corruption - the biggest problem threatening the current generation. However Akshay's Gabbar isn't a villain, he is a hero! Loaded with Akki’s punchlines and attitude, Gabbar is surely back this time but for good. Watch it for the Khiladi who again packs a punch after his patriotic flicks Special 26, Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty and Baby.

Big makers

The story of Gabbar is Back seems to be special as the film is the third remake of the original Tamil flick, Ramanaa. Written by A. R. Murugadoss of Ghajini and Holiday fame, Gabbar is Back is the story of a corruption head who has his own rules when it comes to its destruction. Moreover, the film is made under the banner of Sanjay Leela Bhansali while the screenplay is created by Rajat Arora of The Dirty Picture and Kick fame.
