Fugly has a huge star cast and Mohit revealed that all of them are friends. "Last few films which I have seen like 3 Idiots, Rang De Basanti, Zindagi Na Milegi Doobara have a huge star cast. Nowadays, actors give in to the script. Even Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan don't care about the multi-starrers. In Fugly, everyone is looking great and I don't feel anyone has got a lesser part," said Mohit. Fugly is shot extensively in Delhi, Haryana and the breathtaking locations of Leh.

To play Dev in Fugly was challenging. As an actor I don't have inhibitions. I cannot decide where I should be cast. I am very open to do anything." With Fugly, Akshay and Ashvini have followed up the huge success of their first film venture, OMG: Oh My God and their regional successes, the critically acclaimed Marathi film 72 Miles Ek Pravas and the Punjabi comic-caper ‘Bhaji in Problem’.
