Abhay Deol’s father Ajit Deol passes away

Dharmendra's brother Ajit Deol, who lived with him in the same bungalow, had been ill for a while. According to a report on Bollywoodlife.com, the veteran actor was undergoing treatment at a Juhu hospital, but despite medical efforts he could not be saved. The report further stated that Abhay, Dharmendra and Sunny Deol were by Ajit Deol's side when he passed away at 6:20 pm. Sunny Deol apparently was very close to his uncle and had wept like baby when he came to know about his uncle's health condition, stated a Bombay Times report.

'Jee Karda' singer Labh Janjua found dead in his Mumbai apartment


The magical voice behind hit 'London Thumakda' won't be heard any more as the singer Labh Janjua has been found dead under mysterious circumstances. Known for his Bhangra hits, the singer was found dead at his residence in Bangur Nagar, Goregaon, Mumbai, today morning. Labh is known for his hits like 'Jee Karda,' 'Mundian To Bach Ke,' and 'Dance Pe Chance.'


Bollywood celebs mourned the sudden death of the singer. Composer Pritam tweeted, "RIP Labh Janjua. Can't believe i have to write this. Can't process the news. Rest in peace my friend. My Prayers are with his loved ones."


Ayushmann Khuranna tweeted, "RIP Labh Janjua. Your voice will always remain immortal. It carried the soul of Punjab."

The sisters reportedly took turns to stay by his bedside throughout his illness. According to reports, Shraddha, who has musical leanings, always looked up to her granddad. Having lived next door to him throughout her childhood, she was very attached to him.

Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown passes away

A representative for the Houston family has said that Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of the late entertainer, Whitney Houston, and R&B singer, Bobby Brown, passed away, about 7 months after she was found face-down and unresponsive in a bathtub, reports AP. She was 22-years old. Kristen Foster was quoted in the report as saying that, "Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away on July, 26 2015, surrounded by her family. She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months." Police have said that she was found on January 31 in the suburban Atlanta townhome that she shared with Nick Gordon, the man she called her husband. A police report described it as a "drowning." Bobbi Kristina was the only child of Houston and Brown.

According to a report, 40-year-old Punjabi singer Dharampreet committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his home in Bathinda on Monday (June 8, 2015). Reportedly, Dharampreet was upset due to the downfall in his career, said his mother. According to famous poet and film director Amardeep Gill, Dharampreet was the king of sad songs in Punjab who popularised his own style of singing, and his demise is a big loss to the Punjabi music industry. "He had made his name by sheer hard work and was very serious about his singing. Dharampreet for some time was under depression, but used to avoid sharing his problems," said Gill. He had released around 15 albums over his decade-long career and was exceptionally popular among the rural masses, stated the report. The singer’s last album titled Emotion of Heart was released in 2010.

Legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray's widow Bijoya Ray died in Kolkata on Tuesday (June 2, 2015) after a prolonged illness. She was 98 and is survived by son Sandip Ray who is a well-known Bengali film director. Long suffering from a lung-related illness, Bijoya was admitted to super speciality hospital Belle Vue clinic on June 2, 2015 with acute pneumonia. After her condition deteriorated, she was put on ventilation support. "Doctors tried their best to save her life, but she passed away at around 6 pm," Belle Vue CEO Dr P Tandon told PTI.

According to an IANS report, Isha Mantry, a 27-year-old fashion designer from Mumbai who designed costumes for Priyanka Chopra in Mary Kom, allegedly collapsed due to a drug overdose at an Electronic Dance Music festival at Candolim beach in Goa on December 29, 2014. She subsequently died at a local hospital the next day, the report states. Actress-filmmaker Pooja Bhatt expressed grief on Isha's death on Twitter. She tweeted, "Isha Mantry I can't believe you have left us so early. You with the dancing eyes & shy smile! Why my love? WHY?" [sic] She advised her followers on Twitter to leave the chemicals behind, "Stick to alcohol if you must guys! Smoke a damn joint! But for God's sake, leave the chemicals BEHIND. Life is too damn precious." [sic] Her father Mahesh Bhatt also took to the micro-blogging site to mourn the designer's death. "Amusing yourself to death! Do u know that when Isha Mantri our designer dropped to the dance floor and died, the music did not stop? Tragic!," [sic] he tweeted.

Veteran actor Deven Varma passed away on Tuesday, early morning. According to an IANS report, he succumbed to a heart attack and kidney failure at around 2 am in Pune. He was 77 years old and was married to Ashok Kumar's daughter Rupa Ganguly. Deven Varma has been a part of several memorable Bollywood films like Bemisal, Judaai and Dil To Paagal Hai. He also played Aamir Khan's father in Andaz Apna Apna. The IANS report father stated that the funeral will be held on Tuesday afternoon at the Yerawada crematorium.

He posted, "Goodbye Sadashiv Amrapurkar you made a difference to my life. What would SADAK be without 'Maharani'. Thank you dost."
