Filmmaker Karan Johar is all set to take on the reins of direction once again with his upcoming film, ‘Takht’. While the announcement and the star cast of the movie have already created quite a buzz amongst the movie buffs, the makers are bust scouting for locations around the world.

Recently, Karan Johar along with others finalised all the locations in India and now they are all set to jet off to Europe to scout more locations appropriate for the shooting of the historical drama.

We got our hands on a picture where the entire team posed together for the wrap picture. In the picture, Karan Johar is seen posing for the picture with his team. Dressed in a multi-coloured printed jacket and cool shades, he looked dapper as ever.

‘Takht’ boasts of an ensemble star cast which include, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor.

Ajay Devgn is super excited for his next titled, ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’, which marks his 100th film in the Hindi film industry. The trailer and the songs of the film have received a positive response from the audiences and the historic drama is, so far, making the right noises.

In the trailer, there was a scene where there is a saffron coloured Maratha flag being waved and it has an ‘Om’ symbol on it which was later removed. Speaking about the same to a news portal, Ajay Devgn said that they have removed it because it was technically wrong. He also clarified that they did not do it because they came under any sort of pressure. According to the actor, they spoke to some historians and they said that there was never an ‘Om’ symbol, so they removed it.

‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ also stars Saif Ali Khan and Kajol in the lead roles. While Kajol and Ajay will be seen sharing the screen space after ‘U Me Aur Hum’ in 2008, Saif and Ajay were seen together in ‘Kachche Dhaage’.

The Om Raut directorial is all slated to hit the theatres on January 10, 2020. The movie will be locking horns with Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Chhapaak’ starring Deepika Padukone at the box-office as they are going to release on the same date.

Director Karan Johar is counting down the days to get cracking on his ambitious periodic film ‘Takht’. While Ranveer has only his ’83 film release before devoting himself completely to this film, actors like Alia, Kareena and Vicky have multiple film releases all through 2020 which means they will be sharing their time between the sets and promotional activity.

The moment we have all been waiting for is finally here! Actors Ajay Devgn and Kajol have announced that the first look of their ambitious project ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ will be out tomorrow.

The star-couple, who is also producing the film under their home production banner, took to their social media handles to share a teaser poster that read, “The Unsung Warrior Tomorrow”.

In a first, Ajay will be seen taking up a sword, shield and heading out to the frontline for his role as the legendary Maratha warrior Subedar Taanaji Malusare, who fought alongside Chatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj.

The film also stars Saif Ali Khan as the antagonist. As per reports, Kajol even shot a special song sequence for the film on a lavish set, complete with elegant rangoli and diyas, that was constructed in Mumbai's Film City.

The film is scheduled to release on 10 January 2020.

Actor Vicky Kaushal has been on top of his game and his recent National Award win is proof of the same. The hunk, who is currently busy with back-to-back film commitments, shared an exciting update with his fans about his highly anticipated period-drama ‘Takht’.

"We will start shooting for 'Takht' in February. The preparations are in full force at the moment. I will first finish the shooting of 'Sardar Udham Singh' and then move ahead with the shooting of 'Takht'," Vicky revealed about the upcoming Karan Johar directorial.

"It's a huge film with a huge star cast. I am very excited to experience how all the actors of the film act in one frame. I just hope that I do not overact in excitement! I hope the film shapes up well," he added.

‘Takht’ is a historical drama that narrates the story of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb and his brother Dara Shikoh, and their fight for the throne. Actors Ranveer Singh and Vicky Kaushal are playing Dara Shikoh and Aurangzeb, respectively in the film that will also star Alia Bhatt, Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar in important roles.

The film is slated for a release next year.

After years in Bollywood, Karan Johar is all set to direct his first period drama 'Takht' which boasts of an ensemble multi-starrrer cast including Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor, and Bhumi Pednekar. The film set in the Mughal era was all set to go on the floors by this year, however, the shoot of the film was pushed to February next year.

The film is a tale of two warring brothers, inspired by the fight for the throne between Shah Jahan’s two sons, Aurangzeb and Dara Shukoh. Ranveer plays the latter with Vicky on board as his arch-rival.

Ashutosh Gowariker is all set to enthral his audience with yet another period drama titled, ‘Panipat’ which stars Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon in lead roles. Kriti, who recently called it wraps, shared a sweet post on her social media praising her co-star Arjun.

Taking to her Instagram handle, Kriti shared a lovely picture of herself with Arjun where she can be seen holding her against Arjun’s mouth as she poses with the actor. Originally titled ‘Tanaaji: The Unsung Warrior’, it was rumoured that numerology played an important factor in the title change. Now, according to latest reports, the film’s delay in the film’s release is reportedly due to a technical factor. Online reports claim that the makers are going all out to ensure that the VFX on the film matches international standards and Ajay, who is also producing the film, is making sure the team doesn’t rush with work and compromise on the outcome of the visuals.

The film that will now clash with the Deepika Padukone-starrer ‘Chhapaak’, was reportedly scheduled to hit screens on Republic day 2020, but as the team didn’t feel the holiday release would add to the numbers, they went ahead with 10 January.

Anurag Singh’s ‘Kesari’ has been in the news since the time it was announced. Initially, Karan Johar, Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan were on board for it as its three producers. However, later there were reports that Salman has apparently pulled off from the project for the reasons best known to him.

Director Anurag Singh recently opened up about the same. When asked about Salman’s exit from the film, he reportedly said that he was unaware of why he chose to opt out of the film. Accoridng to him, all the discussions took place behind the closed doors and he was just informed that Salman won’t be part of the film anymore.

Apart from Akshay Kumar, ‘Kesari’ also stars Parineeti Chopra as the female lead. The film is based on the 1897 Battle of Saragarhi wherein an army of 21 Sikhs dared to fight against 10,000 Afghans.

‘Kesari’ is slated to hit the theatres on March 21.

The actress also landed the opportunity to play the lead in eminent director Ashutosh Gowariker's period drama 'Panipat'. Kriti revealed that she had to do an intense sword fighting sequence for the film, dressed in a Marathi nauvari saree. The actress had to carry a heavy sword and a dhal while being draped in a nauvari saree, which was added hindrance. However, the actress said that she fortunately had some combat skills which she gained from her previous film 'Raabta', so she knew the basic moves and the stances that suited her body.

Talking about her director, Kriti said she considers herself fortunate to have a place in Ashutosh Gowariker's film. Kriti said she was taken by his perfectionist streak while shooting and his knowledge of history.

Vicky Kaushal recorded his first blockbuster as a lead actor with ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, after two back-to-back hits with ‘Raazi’ and ‘Sanju’. The actor, who has become the new golden boy of B-town, has reportedly been spoilt for choice with various film offers. And, according to the latest reports, the star has picked his next film.

The actor has reportedly signed Shoojit Sircar's next, based on freedom fighter Sardar Udham Singh, who assassinated Michael O’Dwyer, the former Lieutenant Governor of Punjab in British India in 1940, to avenge the 1919 massacre. Reports quote the director saying that he wanted Vicky on board, simply because he wanted an actor who could give his all to the project and the actor’s Punjabi heritage made him an “obvious choice.”

He is all set to now produce a much-awaited costume drama, ‘Taanaji-The Unsung Warrior’.

Both Bhushan Kumar and Ajay Devgn have had a very successful association in the past, ‘Raid’ being their recent blockbuster. Bhushan Kumar had recently flown to London to meet Ajay Devgn for a discussion over ‘Taanaji...’.

‘Taanaji...’ will mark Bhushan Kumar’s first venture into costume drama. The film is set to go on floors on September 25, after Ajay Devgn finishes the shoot of Akiv Ali’s next which is being produced by Bhushan Kumar and Luv Ranjan and Indra Kumar’s ‘Total Dhamaal’.

The movie will showcase the life of this unsung warrior of glorious Indian history, who fought for his People, his soil and his King Chhatrapati Shivaji. The film will be directed by Om Raut, who has to his credit ‘Lokmanya Ek Yugpurush’ (2015), the Marathi biopic on Bal Gangadhar Tilak.

It has already been a year since Bollywood star Ajay Devgn announced his ambitious project ‘Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior’. To get the hype and excitement going, the star even launched a fiery poster that featured him as the great Maratha warrior Tanaji Malusare, a commander in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s army.

Just as every hero’s story needs an antagonist, new reports have claimed Saif Ali Khan might be turning a shade darker for the film. While nothing has been set in stone as yet, the makers believe that Saif would make an interesting choice to play Udaybhan Rathod, a Rajput officer appointed by Jai Singh, chief of Aurangzeb’s Moghul army.

Will fans get to see Saif and Ajay sharing screen-space for the fourth time in this film based on the Battle of Sinhagad? Only time will tell.

Meanwhile, over the year, numerous reports have hinted at the periodic-drama being released in a 3D format, while another claimed that Ajay is keen on bringing wife, Kajol on-board to play the female lead.

With pre-production work on in full swing, director Om Raut is expected to start filming 'Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior' in the next few months.

Ajay Devgn's aspiring historical project, 'Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior' has already raised the excitement within the audience since the makers revealed its first poster last year. The fiery poster of the film looked impressive and convincing as it showed Ajay in the Maratha gear, defending himself from blazing arrows on the battlefield.

The film is undergoing its pre-production work and the makers are yet to lock the final casting of the film. If reports are to be believed, Ajay Devgn's wife and actress Kajol is expected to come on boards to play Taanaji's better half. Though the film focuses on the heroic fight of Taanaji Malusare in the Battle of Sinhagad, it also puts light on his personal life.

Initially there were talks that Ajay wanted to rope in Kajol to play Taanaji's wife and it seems its time for Ajay and Kajol to share the screen space after years.

The movie will be made with a high budget of Rs. 150 Crore and is expected to go on floors by September this year.

Meanwhile, Kajol is gearing up for the release of her film, Helicopter Eela, which is produced by Ajay Devgn and is slated to release on September 14, 2018.

Karan Johar's upcoming film 'Kalank' is in the news ever since its announcement was made. The film is one of the most anticipated films in the upcoming years. Now according to a report by a tabloid, Karan Johar will be creating a set of whopping 15 crores for the film.

A source to the daily informed that a huge set is built in Film City and it is under heavy security to ensure that pictures of the interiors are not leaked. The team is taking extra measures to keep the look of the cast under wraps.

The source further added that Karan has spent Rs 15 crore to build an Old Delhi set in the city. Karan got Amrita Mahal Nakai to work on the set’s design and structure. The source further mentioned that they have created an old Delhi mohalla with a Mahal, mainly because 'Kalank' is set against the backdrop of the partition. Since the film is based in the 1940s, the team has designed the sets keeping that particular period in mind.

The source further added that 'Kalank' is very important for Karan Johar as this was his dad, Yash Johar's project. The source added that Karan wants to make sure that 'Kalank' is one of the biggest films he’s ever produced.

Directed by Abhishek Varman, the film stars Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur in lead roles. 'Kalank' is slated to release on April 19, 2019.

Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowarikar is currently gearing up for his next period drama 'Panipat'. The film recently went on floors and the filmmaker revealed that the team will be recreating the Shaniwar Wada for the movie.

Ashutosh shared a picture on his Twitter and wrote, “Construction BEGAN yesterday on the auspicious day of #AKSHAYTRITIYA! Recreation of the ‘Shaniwar Wada’ to original scale! @nitindesai666 @agpplofficial @duttsanjay @arjunk26 @kritisanon @rohitshelatkar @visionworldfilm #sunitagowariker #Panipat”

The film will be based on the third battle of Panipat. Peshwa’s historical Shaniwar Wada is of great importance to the story. The Wada will be built in the actual scale and grandeur of the real Shaniwar Wada. Art director Nitin Desai will work with Gowariker for the film and the set will be created at ND Studios. The duo had earlier recreated the Agra Fort in Gowariker’s 'Jodhaa Akbar'.

Desai in a statement said he is very excited to work with Ashutosh Gowariker again after 'Jodhaa Akbar'. The battle of Panipat is one of the most important chapters of our history and he is very glad to be part of the project. He further added that Shaniwar Wada was a stunning place and he is very excited to recreate the magnificent structure.

Arjun Kapoor will be playing the role of Maratha leader Sadashivrao Bhau in the film while Sanjay Dutt will play the role of Ahmad Shah Durrani. The film is slated to hit the screens on December 6, 2019.
