In his latest interview, Shahid spilled the beans on how he prepped up for his role of Maharawal Ratan Singh. Apart from learning the art of sword fighting, the actor also had to don heavy body armour weighing around 30-40 kilos during the shoot which he alleged was the reason behind why lost four kilos in five days.

Shahid also adopted a special diet to attain his sculpted physique that we got a glimpse of in the film's trailer and song.

Biopics are currently on a roll in Bollywood. The industry is churning out one biopic after the other and while so, the actors are leaving no stone unturned to bag and star in one.
Katrina Kaif, we hear, too is no exception to this. The ‘Jagga Jasoos’ actress is reportedly very keen on starring in a biopic. A couple of producers also have apparently been toying with the idea of casting her in the biopic they are making.
However, what is acting as a roadblock in Katrina’s case is reportedly the fact that she does not belong to the Indian origin. According to reports, the makers are unable to get her to play someone whose story is worth telling in a biopic from the Indian origin. Unless someone does a film on an international celebrity who has her roots in the UK, we might reportedly not see Katrina in a biopic.

On Thursday, the Mumbai Police called out Varun Dhawan for a traffic violation episode that saw the actor taking a selfie with a fan at a busy street junction. The actor duly apologized on Twitter for his actions, but it looks like the cops were not done yet with the ‘Judwaa 2’ actor.

The Mumbai Police replied again from their Twitter handle in a rather sarcastic and scathing manner. Taking to the microblogging platform they said, “Quite a galactic coincidence for the photographer to be on the same signal to capture your gesture, with a good intent nevertheless risky. Leaning out even in a stationary vehicle can be distracting for others considering your popularity. Glad you took our message in the right spirit.”

It remains to be seen if the ‘Judwaa 2’ star engages in further banter with cops or not.

Bollywood actors are worshipped in India. The relationship that they share with their fans is very unique. For the fans, just an autograph, a picture or a sweet reply on social media is enough to make their day. However sometimes when celebs do not oblige to their simplest of requests, they are left heart-broken, questioning their love for them.
In a similar incident, Katrina Kaif was recently spotted with Salman Khan at the airport. A fan present at the airport reportedly requested for an autograph from both the actors. While Salman Khan humbly adhered to his request, Katrina Kaif was seen reportedly walking away past him, paying no heed to his call.
While this reportedly left the onlookers in utter shock, the spokesperson of the actress rubbished all such reports. Her spokesperson said, “The report is entirely untrue. Katrina has always obliged her fans and is grateful for all the love they show.”

Stars oblige their fans with pictures even in the unlikeliest of situations, but Varun Dhawan seems to have run into trouble for doing so. Mumbai Police took exception to a picture of Varun clicking a selfie with a fan in the middle of traffic and tweeted their disappointment. The tweet was accompanied by a clipping of a local tabloid that carried photos of Varun Dhawan clicking the selfie in question. In the photos, Varun is seen leaning out of his car and clicking a selfie with a female fan, who is in an auto rickshaw.

They wrote, “These adventures surely work on D silver screen but certainly not on the roads of Mumbai! U have risked ur life,ur admirer’s & few others. V expect better from a responsible Mumbaikar & youth icon like U! An E-Challan is on d way 2 ur home. Next time, V will B harsher.”

Varun later replied to their tweet and clarified that the vehicles were not in motion when the picture was clicked and he obliged the fan because he did not want to hurt her sentiments. He also apologized for doing so and wrote that he will not encourage this. He wrote, “My apologies �� Our cars weren’t moving since we were at a traffic signal and I didn’t want to hurt the sentiment of a fan but next time I’ll keep safety in mind and won’t encourage this.”

The young star wife, now a mother to a beautiful baby daughter Misha, grabbed headlines once again this year for her comments on motherhood on International Women’s Day.
She had said, “I love being at home, I love being a mother to my child. I wouldn't want to spend one hour a day with my child and rush off to work, why did I have her? She is not a puppy; I want to be there for her as a mother." Her “puppy” comment earned her wrath of many both in real and virtual world.
Later, Mira reportedly clarified saying that she was vulnerable when she made those comments and that her emotions got better of her which angered the working mothers.

Singer Sonu Nigam courted controversy in April this year when he complained about the use of loudspeaker for azaan (Mosque’s call to prayer). He spoke about forced religiousness on being waken up on azaan.
Taking to twitter, he wrote, ““God bless everyone. I’m not a Muslim and I have to be woken up by the Azaan in the morning. When will this forced religiousness end in India.” This definitely angered many of his fans and followers, not to mention the people who took offense to it.
Soon after this, he posted a video of the recording of the azaan on his micro-blogging handle and captioned it, “Good morning India,” although it appears to have been shot either late evening or very early morning since it is dark.”
All this controversy led to a cleric announcing a Rs 10 lakh reward for anyone who could shave Sonu’s head and garland him with shoes. Later, the singer himself organised a press conference to document the shaving of his head.
Sonu Nigam finally quit Twitter in May.

Although Sonakshi Sinha has had only one film to her credit so far this year, she managed to be in the buzz for most part of the year, thanks to controversies! The actress made news when she was reportedly selected to perform at the maiden concert of Justin Bieber in India. Apparently, Padma Shri award winner singer Kailash Kher did not find it appropriate for an actor to perform at an international musical concert in India. He reportedly said that Sonakshi performing at the gig will lead people from foreign shores to think that she must be a big singer in India. And then she will get concert offers from Canada, and then probably Sonakshi will laugh them off saying 'I am not a singer but an actor’.
He also said that Bollywood face has become a trend followed by event managers and producers of the Indian entertainment industry.
Well, this did not end here. It was further dragged by Armaan Malik when he shared Kailash Kher’s article and tweeted, “Agree with @Kailashkher sir! Actors are actors & singers are singers. Leave the stage & mic to us, that’s our playground not yours.”
Sonakshi responded to this by saying, “A secure artiste would always encourage another artiste to grow their skills and follow their dreams. Art in any form should not be suppressed.”
The Shot-gun girl and Armaan’s twitter tiff kind of divided the whole industry who either sided with actors or the singers. Singers like Amit Trivedi, Alka Yagnik and Sona Mohapatra also voiced their opinions.

Abhay Deol grabbed headlines when the actor took to facebook to slam actors for endorsing the fairness cream. Actors like Shah Rukh Khan, John Abraham, Yami Gautam and others faced the brunt. Sonam Kapoor joined the actor by pointing out to an old ad of Esha Deol which he supposed to have missed.
Although he was criticised by many for being outspoken on this issue, he said in an interview that he also gained appreciation for bringing this subject to the forefront by many others too.
The ‘Happy Bhaag Gayi’ actor had also said in an interview that he had tweeted about the issue in the past too and has been trying to make an effort in his own space. He added that he was expressing his views and that he did all that for awareness.

Bipasha Basu courted controversy when a talent scout of a fashion show in London accused the actress of “cheating” and being “unprofessional”. Reportedly, Bipasha Basu backed out of the Pakistan London Fashion Show in London at the last moment even after receiving the advance and being paid for her flight to UK.
In a long facebook post, the talent scout of the show Ronita Sharma Rekhi said that despite of adhering to all her demands, the actress threw tantrums at the hotel she was lodged in. She also refused to come out of her hotel room hours before the show and even did not let anyone come inside the room.
The organisers also reportedly demanded compensation of 25,000 pounds (~Rs 20 lakh) from the actress or face legal action.
Defending her decision to not walk for the fashion show, Bipasha issued a statement in which she said that the deal with the organisers was made with a set of agreed conditions. However, the actress claims that they did not honour their agreement. Citing incidences from the past, Bipasha goes on to say that she has had a clean reputation all these years. The fact that she was not performing for a charity, she expected the organisers to adhere to her demands which they had agreed to meet.
The actress signed off by saying that she hopes everyone makes a wiser judgment as opposed to believing just about anything that is gets written.

Priyanka Chopra has become a global icon. She is in the news every second day owing to the multiple projects that she is part of or her films and television series. However, the desi girl was the eye of the storm this year for one major controversy she courted.
Priyanka was in Berlin in May for the promotions of her Hollywood film ‘Baywatch’. On learning that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also in Berlin, she decided to meet him. No sooner did the photo of the two started making the rounds on the social media, the actress was slammed for wearing a knee length dress and showing off her legs while she sat in front of the honourable Prime Minister.
She was also part of many trolls on social media; be it for her outfits, her alleged lip-job or more so the recent one where she was slammed for sporting a tri-colour dupatta on the eve of Independence Day.

She completed her look with ruby red lips, slick hair and a classic pair of black stilettos. Hours after the storm her first photo created, Deepika posted yet another photo as a fitting reply to the trollers. The second picture was with the same attire but different pose. She captioned the picture as saying, “Here you go, one extra image for you to criticise'.
At yet another incident, she was insulted again for her photograph which she shared from the photoshoot of another magazine. This time the actress was not slammed for her dress or looks but for her body. She was body shamed by calling ‘anorexic’ and ‘malnourished’.

Esha Gupta took the picture sharing website Instagram by storm when she posted a series of picture from her steamy photoshoots. Unravelling photos from her shoot one by one, the sultry actress kept her fans and followers glued to her posts.
Although she received a lot of flak from the haters who slammed her for her bold pictures, she, instead of getting affected by the trolls, ignored the hate comments and at a point even disabled the comment section of her Instagram account which left the people to either like her picture or move on with it.

Kangana Ranaut created a storm in Bollywood last year with the controversial leak-outs of her alleged affair with Hrithik Roshan. And while the industry is still recuperating with the shock, the actress started another trail of controversy when she accused director Karan Johar for being the flag-bearer of nepotism in Bollywood
On Karan’s chat show Koffee with Karan, when asked Kangana as to why she doesn’t attend parties and socialise much, she replied by saying that people in Bollywood have their own set of friends and close-knit circles and that they do not allow outsiders to enter. Pointing out at the films have turned into some sort of film business, she accused Karan of being the flag-bearer of nepotism in Bollywood.
While a lot was talked about the same, time and again, Karan along with Saif Ali Khan and Varun Dhawan made a mockery of the actress and the issue at a recent award function. After they were slammed for the same, Saif and Varun made it a point to clarify their stand and apologise for it.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming period film ‘Padmavati’ has been making news for all the wrong reasons. It grabbed limelight when the director was reportedly slapped and assaulted by the members of the Karni Sena on the sets of his film in Jaipur. The members were seen protesting damaging cameras and hurling abuses.
The director gained support from the industry people who not only condemned this act but also vouched for more safety and action against the abusers.
Not too late after this incident, the set of the film was yet again vandalised and set on fire in Kolhapur. Reportedly, about 20 to 30 people reached the sets of the film armed with petrol bombs, stones and lathis. They allegedly fought off the bodyguards and bouncers who were present at the sets. The security had earlier been beefed up at the sets in the light of Jaipur incident. Before setting the venue on fire, they also damaged the cars parked around the sets. They allegedly set on fire the costumes of the film and also torched the fodder kept for the horses.
