Amitabh Bachchan reveals a peculiar detail about the song 'Khaike Paan Banaras Wala'

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan is one of the most active social media celebrities in the industry. His constant updates keep his ardent fans glued to his social media profiles as he knows well as to how to keep the audience entertained and engaged. Big B is known to share some of the most peculiar tweets, anecdotes, poetry, movie milestones with his audience and we totally love that.

Recently Amitabh Bachchan took to Twitter to share a detail about his movie ‘Don’ which featured the iconic song ‘Khaike Paan Banaras Wala’. His tweet read, “An after thought, that became THE thought .. song 'khaike paan banaras wala' was done after film DON was completed ..”

For the uninitiated, the film's iconic song ‘Khaike Paan Banaraswala’ was never meant for ‘Don’. It was written for Dev Anand’s film ‘Banarasi Babu’. The song was shot after the entire filming was complete and added post interval to balance the action-packed pace of the film. Actor Manoj Kumar, who saw the rushes, said the film was so gripping that even taking a "toilet break" was difficult. Hence, the song was included on his recommendation. During its recording Kishore Kumar actually chewed paan and spat it on a plastic sheet to make it seem natural.

Is Big B the reincarnation of his grandfather, Pratap Narayan Srivastava?

Today, as the entire nation celebrates legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan's 74th birthday, the superstar revealed a secret that might surprise his millions of fans. We all know the amount of love, respect and admiration Big B has for his father, the late, legendary writer, Harivanshrai Bachchan. Walking down the memory lane and remembering his father on his birthday, Big B said that his father always felt that he was the reincarnation of his grandfather, Pratap Narayan Srivastava. Big B narrates in his blog, "About this time of the night, 74 years ago, my Father had a dream, where his Father appeared and told him to get up, for he was about to have a son. My Father got up with a start and discovered my Mother, pregnant with me, but not due for many more days, missing from the bed. She had gone to the wash room and had almost collapsed there with the final pains of delivery. Some hours later she gave birth to a boy. That boy was me! My Father for some reason always believed that I was the incarnation of his Father, after this incident. I do not know if I have been true to the incarnate presence of my Grandfather, but it has never been short of effort. The blessings of the Almighty and the affection and prayers of elders, has, through good fortune, remained with me throughout, and I am indebted to them, and all those, that have since, given me the love and regard of a magnitude that is immeasurable!"

When Amitabh Bachchan gave four superhits in a month!

There is no doubt that megastar of the millennium, Amitabh Bachchan , at 74, is one of the top three names on the wishlist of all filmmakers. And why not... there was a time when the superstar delivered as many as four superhits in one month. Yes, you read that right! While today’s actors celebrate short-term successes, Big B delivered four commercial successes in a row in October 1978. In one of his recent interviews, Bachchan revealed how the audience doesn’t mind watching four films of the same actor in the same month as long as the film delivers good content and entertainment. The films that released back-to-back and went on to become superhits were ‘Muqaddar Ka Sikander,’ ‘Kasme Vaade,’ ‘Don’ and ‘Trishul.’ Interestingly, two of these four films – ‘Kasme Vaade’ and ‘Don’ – saw Amitabh in a double role. Another intriguing fact is that barring ‘Don,’ three other films saw Rakhee as the female lead opposite Bachchan. What’s commendable is that all four films were directed by four different filmmakers, had drastically different stories and saw Bachchan essaying diametrically opposite characters.

Amitabh Bachchan: Demotion is the toughest battle a celebrity faces

Amitabh Bachchan has seen many highs and lows in a career spanning four decades, but the actor said that the most arduous battle a celebrity has to face is that of demotion, reports PTI. The 72-year-old star believes that one needs a lot of strength to survive through the phase of fading success. "Celebrity hood is no different from a champion. The day you lose the success, you shall be relegated to the background and someone else, someone else bigger and better shall occupy the chair which you had warmed for several years, never expecting it to be snatched away," [sic] he wrote on his blog.

Big B drew comparisons between being a celebrity and a champion while discussing about World's number one Novak Djokovic's win over Swiss star Roger Federer in Wimbledon final. "It is the toughest battle that a celebrity faces. Lauded and applauded with unprecedented love and affection one day and then another day it's all gone. Gone to another. You need the strength of a bull, a skin of a rhino and the roar of a lion to understand the phenomena that unfolds. It needs guts to withstand the demotion, to seek its acceptance with grace and dignity and to realise before long, its presence and its eventuality. We shall all go through this and we shall learn to survive within it," [sic] he concluded.
