AIB Knockout: Highlights of Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor's roast

Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor made a brave move to be a part of a roast, being openly criticised by a panel of comedians. Around 4000 people were present to witness the roast, which is new concept in the country. Apparently the proceeds of the event has been donated to charities by Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Karan Johar. The event was hosted by Karan who braved several comments on himself too. We take you through some of the most entertaining moments of the show.

In a rather interesting confession of sorts, Arjun Kapoor said, "We have the option of having sex with anyone we want." However, the minute that was announced, Ranveer Singh came on the mic, looking in the direction of Deepika Padukone, nodding his head in the negative and said, "Not me baby." Deepika Padukone, who was sitting in the front row couldn't stop laughing and applauding the duo. When Arjun Kapoor tried to woo Deepika by telling her, "Baby, I mean Bhabhi you want to find some fanny," Deepika awarded him with a flying kiss.

Deepika Padukone too was not spared, she sat as an audience in the front row and a lot of comments were made about Ranveer and her alleged relationship. First up it was Karan Johar's turn to take a dig at them. He went on to joke, "What do you call a dashing superstar who has women dying to be with him - Ranbir Kapoor. But I am not saying that Ranveer Singh does shit films. The last good thing that Ranveer was in was Deepika Padukone." An AIB team member Gursimran Khamba said, "Honestly we wanted to get Ranbir Kapoor for the show but we only managed Ranveer Singh, which is also what Deepika did so I guess it is fine." While another member on the panel, Aditi Mittal said, "Deepika is dating Ranveer Singh as we all know. It is great. Thank you for keeping him off the streets."

It was not just Ranveer and Deepika who were linked on the show, but even Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha. While Arjun was on the roast, Sonakshi Sinha was enjoying the show from the front row. AIB member Abish Mathew told Arjun Kapoor, "You have been dating Sonakshi Sinha, so congratulations there. But those are all rumours, that is not true as you know that you are not supposed to touch carbs." Sonakshi Sinha took it rather sportingly and was seen laughing at the joke.

Ranveer Singh's past too was dragged into the AIB roast. One of the most entertaining comments made by Karan Johar was, "Ranveer Singh has completed four years in the industry. That is one year of acting and three years of getting over Anushka Sharma." While Deepika laughed off at the comment, Ranveer hid his face. AIB team member, Abish Mathew took a dig at him by asking, "Ranveer how does it feel to be the only sad person in the country every time Virat Kohli scores a century?"

Towards the end of the show, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor were given a chance to voice their opinions. All through the show the two actors didn't take an offence with the roasters, but they more than made up for it when offered the chance. When Ranveer Singh expressed his disappointment with the failure of Kill Dil, Arjun Kapoor suggested that he needs a 'good Dharma film'. In order to please Karan Johar the actor went and knelt in front of him, to which KJo retorted, "That is my position."

In the past Alia Bhatt has done a special video with the AIB team but she too was targeted at this special roast session. Gursimran Khamba, in one of his comments, mentions the ISIS. While at it, he pointed at Alia Bhatt and said, "Alia in the front row has no idea what ISIS is. Alia just to clarify, the products in your kitchen have ISI mark and that is different. ISIS is a terrorist organisation." Alia Bhatt was in splits but not offended.
