‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Fawad Khan, has hit the high note at the box-office and struck a chord with its touching storyline. The film which released along with Ajay Devgn’s ‘Shivaay’, collected an estimated Rs 34 Cr at the weekend box-office. Director Karan Johar, made a surprise visit to a local theatre in Mumbai, to get first-hand reactions from movie goers on Monday night. Dressed in his trademark all black outfit, the director waited at the lobby of the theatre where he interacted with people who had caught the film. Karan not only welcomed their feedback, but also posed with them for selfies. A few fans even struck the ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ pose, which we are sure, impressed the director.

This Diwali has been extremely special for Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma since their mega release ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ hit the screens in the festive season. The two stars have been appreciated by the critics and masses alike for their powerful performances in the film. High on the praise coming their way, Ranbir and Anushka were recently spotted at a post-Diwali party hosted by billiards player Rishabh Thakkar and actress-writer Sukhmani Sadana. The intimate bash hosted by the duo had an impressive turnout.

Apart from Ranbir and Anushka, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ maker Karan Johar also attended the occasion. Arjun Rampal walked in with his wife Mehr and was seen chatting away with the guests. Other celebrities present at the bash included Ayan Mukerji, Kim Sharma, Minissha Lamba, Jackky Bhagnani, Abhishek Kapoor, Sammir Dattani, Pooja Gupta, Kritika Kamra, Kunal Rawal, Surily Goel, Taaha Shah and Arjun Khanna.

Ever since Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor worked together in ‘Bombay Velvet’, the two have shared a great camaraderie. Their off-screen friendship has translated into crackling chemistry in their recent release ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’.
So, when recently Anushka was asked about Ranbir going through a low phase in his career, the actress immediately came to his defence. “Ranbir is a very good actor. He has given us some amazing films. I admire him for the choices choices he made at the beginning of his career. He did films like ‘Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year’, ‘Rajneeti’, ‘Barfi’. It’s refreshing to see a young actor making such kind of choices…Ranbir is here to stay because of the actor that he is,” Anushka told PTI.
Teaming up for the second time after ‘Bombay Velvet’, Ranbir and Anushka’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ has garnered good collections at the box-office.

Amidst much controversy, Karan Johar's 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil,' opened on its pre-decided release date of October 28, 2016. The film began its run with an encouraging response at the box-office. However, that didn't stop Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor, the film's protagonists, from continuing the promotions of the film. Talking to the press, he shared how the film is about an ode to himself and that he's the brand ambassador of an emotion felt by many but not yet openly discussed. "The film is an ode to myself without being self-indulgent. It is about the angst of falling in love without reciprocation. I am the brand ambassador of that emotion." He added on a lighter note, "Every tear that you shed (when you watch a film of mine) is a dollar in my account. You weep and I laugh all the way to the bank," he shared.

Later, Saif had also opted out of the project with John Abraham taking up his role.
