Dangal Review: Aamir Khan's movie is both inspiring and entertaining
What works wonderfully for Dangal is the writing. Director Nitesh Tiwari, along with Piyush Gupta, Shreyas Jain and Nikhil Mehrotra should be complimented for their tongue-in-cheek quality, peppered with humour and several poignant father-daughter emotions all through. Of course, a little bit is lost in translation because of the Haryanvi twang. But, messages on our obsession with the male child (prevalent since the dark ages), myopic stand on bringing up our daughters and the administration's pathetic disposition towards sports, are loud and clear. PIC: Aamir chilling with on-screen daughters on the sets of 'Dangal'
Aamir Khan’s upcoming biopic based on the life of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat has been creating quite a stir even before the film went on floors, courtesy, Aamir’s bulked up avatar for the film. The actor who will be seen reprising the wrestler onscreen, has not only put on a lot of weight in preparation for his film, but is also sporting salt-n-pepper, closely cropped hair for the role. This will be the first time that Khan will be seen playing such an older character and a father of two teenage daughters played by Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra. While the actor is known to be a dotting dad in real life, he seems to be a great onscreen father too or so suggest these couple of on-set pics that came our way recently. Not only is Aamir chilling with the entire ‘Dangal’ team, but the man also seems to share a warm bond with his on-screen daughters. We sure are eager to catch this father-daughters trio on the silver screen. Dangal will release tomorrow (23rd December).

For his upcoming film, ‘Dangal,’ Aamir gained as much as 25 kilograms, which raised everyone’s eyebrows. But on his 51st birthday bash, the actor was seen in a leaner avatar. The reason? He now has to play the younger version of Mahavir Phogat, on whom his character in the film is based on. After this, he will shed 13 more kilos to attain the ‘Ghajini’ shape. But what is he doing with his XL-sized clothes which would be of no use to him now. Well, he will give away all these clothes to charity. A report on Mid-day.com has quoted his spokesperson as saying that Aamir has gone through different sizes and will experience more change in size during his process of losing weight.
