'I was looking older on screen'

When asked if he had indeed quit smoking, Ranbir said, "To be honest, in the last 10 days, I have been taking illegal drags. I have been a two-packet smoker. When you are young, it is fine, as you have a good hormonal system. But as I was getting older, I felt that my skin was ageing, I was looking older on screen. So, I quit smoking for that purpose and also because I wanted to be healthy. I hope that being an actor, I can inspire people to quit smoking. I was a big smoker and when you give it up, life is so much better. You have so much of free time to think about other things instead of thinking of lighting a cigarette. I feel more alive."

Ranbir Kapoor hasn't been having a field day at the box-office what with three of his films not having fared well. However, the Rockstar seems unfazed by all the reports of his position having been jeopardised. He has a slew of good projects lined up that seems to keep him busy. Talking to Rajeev Masand, Ranbir was quoted as saying that when his movies failed, the industry started messaging him and that he recieved a hundred messages in a day. He recalled a chat that he was having Katrina and said that, "You get a hundred messages a day, the next day you get 20 messages, the third day you get another 10 messages - so this went on for four weeks. On the third week, I'm telling Katrina, you know, 'is it normal?' because I'm still getting messages like 'we're with you! This too shall pass.' So that kind of freaked me out because I'm not feeling so much trouble, but maybe I am in trouble." With this witty comeback, Ranbir seems to have silenced his detractors who were writing him off.

A peek into Ranbir Kapoor’s life

Long ago, Ranbir Kapoor had expressed his desire of playing a villain. Even after years, the Kapoor lad has not gotten over his wish and wants to play a baddie on-screen, even after having a hot girlfriend and being surrounded by cool cars.

In an interview with DNA, Ranbir said that he has always wanted to play a villain but never got an opportunity. He further said that there should be no logic as to why he’s a villain, and that he didn’t want people to know that he is one.
