5 things to watch out for in Housefull 3

Be it a complete comedy of errors or romancing bombshells in bikinis, Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull series is a must watch. The first installment of the franchise was originally made in 2010 with Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Arjun Rampal. It was directed by Sajid Khan, who also directed the second Housefull, replacing Arjun Rampal with John Abraham. Now a report in TOI says that Farhad-Sajid, who have directed Akshay Kumar’s Entertainment, will be directing Housefull 3. The third installment will prove to better and bigger than the first two. Let us check out five things that will make Housefull 3 a must watch.

5 things to watch out for in Housefull 3

Akshay Kumar and Abhishek Bachchan’s dostana: The third installment will see Akshay Kumar’s bromance with Abhishek Bachchan. The two stars will be teaming up after a gap of 12 years. They last worked together in 2002 on Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya, that also starred Karisma Kapoor. While Akshay is known for his excellent comic timing, Abhishek has also proved that he can make you laugh with his antics in movies like Dostana and Bol Bachchan. It will indeed be interesting to see Abhi and Akki team up and create a ruckus in the movie with their PJs, one-liners and histrionics. Well we sure are looking forward to their chemistry.

Who will be the leading actresses? Though the Housefull series is all about cheap jokes, double meaning comments and slapstick comedy, it is also about romance. While Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh have been signed as the male leads of the film, the leading ladies of the film are yet to be finalised. The previous installments have seen A-listers like Deepika Padukone and Asin Thottumkal. It will be interesting to see who will be cast opposite Akshay this time? Maybe Sonakshi Sinha as she not only makes a good pair with him and shares a good onscreen chemistry but can also do comedy. And maybe Parineeti Chopra can be cast opposite Abhishek Bachchan. What say?

Sajid Khan’s controversy: Sajid Khan, who directed the first two installments of Housefull, will not wield the megaphone for the third part. While some say it is because of Khan’s creative differences with Sajid Nadiadwala, there are others who suggest that he was asked to leave after the debacle of Himmatwala at the box-office. However, there is another controversy about Sajid Khan and lead actor Akshay Kumar. Sajid reportedly had a spat with Akshay after he made derogatory comments about the star on a TV show. A TOI report says that when Sajid was asked why he doesn't work with newcomers, he replied: "Housefull 1 and Housefull 2, sort of, got Akshay out of a bad patch of six to seven flop films. He had a run of six to seven flop films, after which Housefull became the first big grosser in 2010. Then again, he had a patch of six to seven films. Then again, it was Housefull 2." This allegedly led to a huge showdown between the actor and filmmaker and perhaps Sajid’s ouster from Housefull 3. This controversy coupled with Farhad-Sajid’s fresh take on Housefull series will make the film a must watch.

Riteish Deshmukh: Actor Riteish Deshmukh is on a roll as his remarkable portrayal of a dark character in Ek Villain has been lauded and the movie has crossed the 100-crore mark at the box-office. In fact, the actor has shown his versatility as he has donned completely different avatars in Humshakals, Ek Villain and the Marathi flick Lai Bhari. Even his personal life is on a roll as the actor will soon become a dad. With so many things going right in his professional and personal lives, we sure hope that it will be a treat to watch Riteish in his comic best in Housefull 3. Also we have seen his chemistry with Akshay Kumar in Housefull, but it will be interesting to see his equation with Abhishek Bachchan. They were last seen together in Bluffmaster (2005).

The surprise package: One of the most-talked about characters of Housefull franchise is that senior actor who manages to steal the show. While in the first installment of the franchise, it was Boman Irani’s sleepwalking antics that won rave reviews, the second installment saw Mithun Chakraborty play an interesting, grey character of J.D. (Jagga Daaku. Housefull 2 also saw interesting performances by Rishi and Randhir Kapoor, who are obsessed to hook their daughters with multimillionaires. Well we sure hope that this movie will also have a surprise package.
