2015: Actors who are raring to take on the box-office

The year 2015 is going to be a very interesting one at the box office. Almost every big name in the industry has a couple of releases lined up. A lot of major and long-awaited projects are going to release this year. Most of the films are banking on an interesting cast to set the cash registers ringing. We take you through some such projects that might make history in the current year...

Shah Rukh Khan
After a happy 2014, Shah Rukh Khan is all set to rock 2015 too. The actor has two big releases this year - Raees and Fan. He has already started shooting for Fan in which he will be seen playing a dual role - one that of himself and the other that of a fan. The film that also stars Vaani Kapoor and Ileana D'Cruz in major roles, will be produced by Yash Raj Films. Fan is expected to hit the screens on Bakri Eid this year. The other project that SRK is expected to start shooting for is Raees. This film will once again bring together SRK and Farhan Akhtar, who have in the past worked together on the Don series. It will indeed be interesting to watch SRK in two diverse avatars this year.

Salman Khan
2014 was a good year for Salman Khan what with the release of Kick that turned out to be a blockbuster. 2015 looks even more promising for the actor. After Ek Tha Tiger, Salman and Kabir Khan are coming together for Bajrangi Bhaijaan which is slated to release this year. Salman will be seen romancing Kareena Kapoor in the film and theirs is indeed a hit jodi. Salman Khan will also be entertaining the audience in the second half of the year. After a long wait Salman has joined forces with the Barjatyas for Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. It is one of the most-awaited films this year as Salman will be seen in a traditional avatar. Bajrangi Bhaijaan will release in July while Prem Ratan Dhan Payo will hit the screens in November.

Ranbir Kapoor
Ranbir Kapoor didn't have any release during the last year. However, it going to be a packed 2015 as he has as many as four releases this year. Starting off with Roy, where Ranbir plays the title role, Ranbir moves to Anurag Kashyap's ambitious film, Bombay Velvet which is having a delayed release. Ranbir's Jagga Jasoos, which also stars his alleged girlfriend, Katrina Kaif, comes next in November. The year will also end with Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone-starrer, Tamasha. Imtiaz Ali's directorial, Tamasha is scheduled to release on December 25.

Ranveer Singh
It has been a rather disappointing 2014 for Ranveer Singh. Both Kill Dil and Gunday failed to make a mark at the box-office. However 2015 looks like a good year for the actor. He will be seen in Zoya Akhtar's multi-starrer Dil Dhadakne Do. The film is a family drama and it would be interesting to see the actor's humorous side. While towards the end of the year, Ranveer Singh will be competing with Ranbir Kapoor's Tamasha at the box-office with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani that pairs him with Deepika Padukone. Ranveer and SLB have been a great combination which was evident in Goliyon Ki Raasleela...Ram-Leela and it will be interesting to watch them come together once again for this intense drama film, which also stars Priyanka Chopra.

Akshay Kumar
Baby was Akshay Kumar's first release this year, however it did not make it to the coveted Rs 100 crore club. This year, Akshay Kumar has several films lined up for release. First off it will be Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Main Gabbar which is the remake of a Tamil film. Come July and Akshay Kumar-Sidharth Malhotra starrer Brothers, which is a remake of Hollywood film, Warrior, will release. The film is produced by Karan Johar and directed by Karan Malhotra. Akshay's Singh is Bling was also supposed to release this year, but it has been reportedly delayed.

Emraan Hashmi
2014 was a rather slow year for Emraan Hashmi and he failed to romance the box-office with films like Raja Natwarlal and Ungli. However 2015 seems promising for Emraan Hashmi. He will be seen in Vikram Bhatt's thriller film, Mr. X which is rumoured to be the new-age version of Mr India. Emraan Hashmi's second release this year will be Hamari Adhuri Kahani. He will once again be romancing Vidya Balan in this film which is directed by Mohit Suri. Mr. X is expected to release on April 17 and Hamari Adhuri Kahani will hit the screens on June 12.

John Abraham
John Abraham didn't have any release in 2014. However the actor is all set to entertain this year. He will be seen in Anees Bazmee's multi-starrer, Welcome Back. The film which stars Shruti Haasan, Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor and Paresh Rawal in vital roles will release in May. Next up will be Rocky Handsome, which will be directed by Nishikant Kamat and may release in October this year. And towards the end of the year, John Abraham will once again be seen in a multi-starrer, Hera Pheri 3. This will be the third part in the hilarious series and will be directed by Neeraj Vora. Hera Pheri 3 will also star Abhishek Bachchan in the lead role and is expected to release in December.
