Zubeen Garg, who has a huge fan base in the northeastern regions, has expressed disappointment over the suspension of a female police officer for kissing and hugging him. During one of Garg's recent performances, a female police officer went up on the stage and broke down. She gave the performer a hug and a kiss, but she was later suspended for the same behaviour.

In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Zubeen Garg condemned the suspension of the female police officer. He expressed his support for law enforcement officers and said that everyone has the right to express their feelings.
He stated, “She shouldn’t have been suspended. I am posting on social media as well, I got to know on Wednesday, the concert happened a week ago. It’s not a bad thing that she came, hugged and cried. I am feeling bad about it as someone she admires. I don’t know exactly what led to the suspension. I will take some action for sure on this.” Later, he also took to his Instagram account and wrote, “I know there are norms attached to uniforms. But, love is, and must not be, a punishable offence.”
Zubeen Garg is best known for his song ‘Ya Ali’ from Emran Hashmi and Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Gangster’. The song is still regarded by music fans as a classic. He also performed the famous song ‘Dil Tu Hi Bataa’ from Hrithik Roshan's ‘Krrish 3’.
The 51-year-old singer has released multiple solo albums. These consist of ‘Chanda’, ‘Sparsh’, and ‘Chandni Raat’, among others. As a music composer, he has also contributed to multiple Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, and other language films. In Assam, he is also well-known for singing Bihu songs.
In addition to her work in music, Zubeen is said to have directed and acted in several films. According to reports, his films ‘Kanchanjunga’, ‘Mission China’, ‘Dinabandhu’, and ‘Mon Jai’ were super hits.
