The filmmaker, whos currently working on the live-action musical film adaptation of the popular comics, The Archies, revealed that at the time of her debut as a director, technicians chose to take orders from the lead actor instead of her.
In an interview with a news portal, Zoya shared when she started directing Luck By Chance, her brother

, who was the lead actor was an established film actor already. So, she had certain technicians on board to ask him if the shot was okay, and he had to be like, she is the director."
She also added that she had taken a Steadicam operator to the side and said, ‘I don’t think we can work together if you won’t speak to me.’ And the cameraman responded to her by saying, ‘But you’re like my sister,’ to which she replied ‘I’m not your sister, I’m your boss!’ They eventually became friends, because it was a chat without any such grudges. ‘Luck By Chance’ went on to become a hit film.
Apart from ‘The Archies,’ Zoya is now gearing up for the second season in ‘Made In Heaven’.
