Sanghamitra Chaudhuri is shooting with Zeenat Aman for ‘Strings Of Passion’.
Zeenat Aman, who touched down in the city on Saturday, was busy shooting for Sanghamitra Chaudhuri’s Hindi project titled “Strings Of Passion” on Sunday. Revolving around three MBA students, this is a story of their relationships and also the effect of bad parenting.
Says the director, “Sunday was Zeenat’s first day of shoot in the city.

In fact, this is probably the first time that she is shooting in Kolkata for a film. And, I must say, that she is a director’s actor. Zeenatji is a perfectionist and extremely co-operative to work with. There were times when we were tired, but she showed no signs of fatigue. In fact, post-wrap up, she kept saying why we had finished the day’s shoot so early. Such is her enthusiasm. What’s more, she kept saying, ‘I am not Zeenat. I am a mother’. She is totally in character.”
The unit shot two sequences on Sunday. “Manu is the name of Zeenatji’s on-screen son, while her character is Roma. He commits suicide. The shot is where one of Manu’s friends comes to meet Roma after three years. Roma is a single parent and an overtly possessive mother. We shot another sequence where the character essayed by Shubh Mukherjee of “Nakshatra” and “Aasma” fame, performs the last rites of his father,” adds Sanghamitra.
The rest of the cast includes Raj Zutshi, Girish Nagpal and two FTII students — Trishaan and Shirin. The camera is by Riju Samanta and music by Devrath Sikdar.
And while on music, the film-maker adds as a parting shot, “We intend to keep the Hindi version of the Tagore number, “Bhenge more ghorer chabi”, in the film.”
