'Yuva' clocks 20: Amitabh Bachchan shower praise on son Abhishek Bachchan for his performance; ‘You Are The Best’

As one of Abhishek Bachchan's most acclaimed films, 'Yuva,' celebrated its twentieth anniversary on Wednesday, May 22. On this special occasion, proud father Amitabh Bachchan took a trip down memory lane. He reminisced about the moment when his son received an award for his performance in the film.

Big B took to his Instagram handle to share a heartfelt throwback photo on social media, accompanied by an emotional message. Amitabh Bachchan even praised his son Abhishek's performance in the film. Yuva was released in 2004 and was directed by Mani Ratnam.

"When Abhishek won the Award for YUVA... when his name was announced, he took me to the stage and gave the Award to me..." the 81-year-old actor wrote.

Meanwhile, as the film completed two decades recently, Abhishek, who essayed the character of Lallan Singh, took to Instagram and re-shared one of the posts of his fan about 'Yuva'.

"My God! Can't believe it's been 20 years," he wrote.



Actors Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Vivek Oberoi, Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor Khan played pivotal roles in the fictionalized political drama.

On the work front, Abhishek will be seen heading Shoojit Sircar's film. It will be released on November 15. While Abhishek and Shoojit did not disclose the title of the film, the duo assured that the project would bring a smile to audiences' faces.

It also stars Johnny Lever, Ahilya Bamroo, and Jayant Kriplani in pivotal roles. Apart from this, Abhishek has also returned to the famous 'Housefull' franchise. He will be seen sharing screen space with Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh in the fifth part.

On the other hand, Amitabh has a series of projects lined up, including 'Kalki 2898 AD' with Prabhas and Deepika Padukone, and 'Vettaiyan' with Rajinikanth. 'Vettaiyan' will mark Amitabh’s debut in Tamil films.
