Yash's 'Toxic' vs Ranveer Singh's 'Dhurandhar 2' clash: Ajay Devgn postpones 'Dhamaal 4'; film eyes May release

The Eid 2026 box office is gearing up for a massive showdown as Yash’s 'Toxic' is all set to to go up against Ranveer Singh’s 'Dhurandhar 2'.

Amid buzz that the two heavyweights would clash at the box office this December, it has been confirmed that 'Toxic' will now hit the big screens on 19 March 2026, just in time for the festive weekend. This announcement comes just days after the makers of 'Dhurandhar', announced that their film will have a sequel, arriving on the same day, setting up a box office clash unlike any other.

As social media lit up with buzz about a clash between the two stars, reports doing the rounds online state that Ajay Devgn has now postponed his film's release to avoid a three-way clash.

Yash, on Tuesday, had fans brimming with excitement as he dropped a poster of his film and officially kicked off the 100-day countdown to its March 19, 2026, release.

Ajay bows out of a clash

Reports on Bollywood Hungama claimed that Ajay had initially picked the Eid 2026 weekend for the release of his comedy, 'Dhamaal 4'. However, with 'Dhurandhar' and 'Toxic' now eyeing the same date, the festival release window will be crowded.

With the huge buzz surrounding both films, Devgn reportedly decided to postpone 'Dhamaal 4' to May 2026. The report further claimed that Devgn recognises the commercial weight of 'Dhurandhar 2' and allegedly feels that the film "deserves a clear run."

Summer 2026 release for 'Dhamaal 4'

With its new summer release, 'Dhamaal 4' has a clear window and can draw in larger family audiences. Currently, the Sidharth Malhotra starrer 'Vvan - Force of the Forrest' is slated to release on May 15.

As far as 'Toxic' is concerned, the film is a period gangster drama directed by Geetu Mohandas. It features an ensemble cast including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, Akshay Oberoi, and Sudev Nair.
