Will Deepika Padukone receive the biggest pay cheque of her career for Prabhas's 'Spirit'? Here's what we know

Deepika Padukone has been enjoying motherhood ever since she welcomed her daughter, Dua Padukone Singh, with Ranveer Singh. The actress was pregnant while shooting for Nag Ashwin’s mega-hit film 'Kalki 2898 AD', and she proudly flaunted her baby bump during the promotions. She is now expected to play the leading lady in Prabhas’ upcoming film 'Spirit', directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.

What’s really exciting the internet is the speculation surrounding Deepika’s substantial pay cheque for the role. According to India Today, Deepika is set to earn around Rs 20 crore for the film — the highest pay cheque of her career to date. This reported amount surpasses the earnings of several leading male actors for their recent projects, including her husband Ranveer Singh. With this, she further cements her place among the highest-paid stars in the Indian film industry. However, neither the actress nor her team has made an official statement regarding the report.



Deepika’s casting in 'Spirit' marks her return to large-scale commercial cinema following a brief break from acting after embracing motherhood. Known for her versatility and consistent box office success with films like Padmaavat and Chennai Express, her presence adds significant weight to the film’s already soaring expectations.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 'Spirit' is expected to go on floors by mid-2024 and is being planned as a global release. It will also mark the second collaboration between Prabhas and Deepika after their epic film 'Kalki 2898 AD'.

On the professional front, Deepika was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s 'Singham Again', alongside Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, and Arjun Kapoor. She will soon return in 'Kalki 2898 AD Part 2' and has also signed her next film 'King' with Shah Rukh Khan.
