After her Met Gala outfit drew mixed reactions, all eyes are on
Deepika Padukone, who is at the
Cannes film festival
as the brand ambassador of a beauty brand. Cannes queen
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and newly married
Sonam Kapoor Ahuja too will walk the red carpet for the beauty brand on different dates. Deepika will be walking the red carpet for the second time on 10th and 11th May. Aishwarya, who will be completing 17 years at the red carpet, will be attending the festival on 12th and 13th May. Sonam will be completing 8 years at Cannes and will attend the festival on 14th and 15th May. Some of the other spokespersons that will be seen on the red carpet include Julianne Moore, Helen Mirren & Doutzen Kroes.
Not the one to get bogged down by the fashion police and the excessive analysis, DP has always followed her heart and instincts when it comes to fashion. She had said in a press conference last year, “Sometimes you might like what I wear and sometimes you might not like what I wear. And that's totally okay. I am not dressing for you, I am dressing for myself. So, as long as I am having fun nothing else matters. The only time I would truly be concerned would be when my mother or my girlfriends give me flak for something I wore, that's the time I will allow any comment to enter my life.”
The actress who made her Cannes red carpet debut last year, had said she is proud to represent the country at the film festival. “It's the same feeling when you are an athlete, you are in the national team and are representing the country. It's a similar feeling. As far as Cannes specifically is concerned, there is a beauty aspect to being a woman and with being an actor there is a film aspect to it. It's the best of both worlds.”
Deepika Padukone is raring to win over the Cannes Film Festival, this time around for sure.
