Actor Tena Desae will be playing a cop in her upcoming film, 'Dussehra'. The shooting for this film, directed by Manish Vatsalya, was held in the city recently. The actors — Neil Nitin Mukesh, Tena and Yana Gupta — shot for a Holi song. Tena is quite excited about her role. “I play a Superintendent of Police (SP) in the film. To get into the skin of the character, I watched a lot of films like 'Shool', 'Gangaajal', 'Zero Dark Thirty'.
I even saw videos of retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer
Kiran Bedi,” says Tena. The actor had to be quite disciplined to play this role. “As I play a tough lady cop in the film, I had to be very disciplined about my body language. You can’t be lethargic as a cop, so I had to look firm and strong,” she adds.
She has been working out at the gym a lot these days and is on a rich protein diet. “Keeping in mind the hectic shooting schedule, I have included a lot of eggs, banana milkshake, dry fruits and energy drinks in my diet. This helps me sustain through the day,” she informs.
Tena says she is also learning a lot from Neil. “He is an extremely calm person in spite of the stress and chaos on the sets. Even if we are discussing a sequence casually, he voluntarily helps you to deal with a particular shot. I am learning a lot from him,” she says.
