Pritish Nandy Communications and Sunny Deol are at loggerheads. The former has filed a case with the Indian Motion Pictures and Producers Association (IMPPA) against Sunny for not refunding a payment of Rs 50 lakh. PNC, in its complaint to IMPPA, has said, PNC had signed Sunny Deol for a film and paid him Rs 50 lakh in advance for their film Aayega.
However, the film did not work out. Soon after, Sunny Deol was given other scripts to read by PNC. However, he rejected all of them. Later, after a lot of dilly-dallying, Sunny stopped communicating completely with PNC. With no room for discussion on any project or the return of the signing amount, PNC was left in the lurch. Fed up, PNC eventually filed a case at IMPPA against Sunny for the refund of advance payments.
However, a source informs, Sunny was keen to do the film. The director of the project at the time was Rohit Shetty of
Golmaal fame, whom Sunny wanted to work with. But soon after, the project fizzled out and Rohit bowed out of the film. Sunny did not like any of the other scripts given to him and thats why none of the projects took off. RK Mukherjee, vice president, PNC, said, The complaint against Sunny is a standard one, which we have lodged with the IMPPA. All we want is closure and an amicable refund of our money from Mr Deol.
Sunny is currently out of the country. His publicist Vijay Grover refused to comment on the issue.
