Speaking to Bombay Times, Tanishaa recalled that their dad used to call her and Kajol 'Tom and Jerry,' with her as Jerry and Kajol as Tom.

Tanishaa also mentioned that Kajol is like a mother figure to her, while her husband, Ajay Devgn, is like a father figure. Reflecting on what she has learned from her elder sister and her husband, the former Bigg Boss contestant revealed about Ajay, “He has taught me to be considerate and kind to everyone.” About her sister, she said, “She has taught me to be strong and to stand up for the people we love. It takes a village to raise a child, and I had a beautiful village.”

Tanishaa also spoke about the difference in her and Kajol's careers in Bollywood. "I can’t look at my sister and me and compare. I don’t even compare myself to other actors, so why would I compare myself to my sister? Every actor and star has their own journey; that’s what I believe."

Tanishaa admitted that her career wasn't as successful as her sister Kajol's, adding, "...but she started when she was 16." She also shared that Kajol took on responsibilities quite early in her life and has turned out to be stricter than their mom, Tanuja. Speaking about her bond with both of them, Tanishaa said that Tanuja is like a friend, while Kajol is strict like a mother.
