Ankur Bhatia who’s seen in films like Haseena Parkar and Bloody Daddy missed out on being a part of Gadar 2. The film became a massive success at the box office and Ankur was approached for a meaty role, but the project just slipped off his hands. He was offered the role of Lieutenant Colonel, which, unfortunately, he couldn’t do.
He says, “I was offered the role of an Indian army officer.
I had a meeting with director Anil Sharma and got on board. However, when the film finally went on floor I had picked up something else by then and couldn’t shoot for the Sunny Deol starrer.”
He further added, “I would have loved to be a part of Gadar 2. I mean look at it…it is such a huge success. It would have been awesome to have it in my portfolio. Afterall, it’s all about destiny. It is funny how destiny works. I’m extremely happy for the whole team though.”
Ankur who was earlier seen in Taali recently, has also been a huge fan of Gadar. He says, “I loved watching Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Everybody did and that is why it was such a huge hit back in the days. Gadar 2 was destined to be a super hit, because people were waiting for it for so many years. Also, Bobby Deol is a close friend, he is like family to me. So, to be a part of his brother’s film, who he loves a lot, was exciting. I have also developed a fondness for Sunny Deol and so I wanted to be a part of it.”
The actor got to meet him during the Gadar 2’s success bash which he attended. He signs off saying, “It was good to meet him and the entire team. I conveyed my best wishes and happiness to Sunny Deol.”
