Sanjay Dutt's personal life has consistently attracted media attention, particularly highlighted in his 2018 biopic 'Sanju,' starring Ranbir Kapoor. The film provided insights into his controversies and relationships, including his romance with co-star Tina Munim. Dutt once expressed discomfort with her revealing outfits during their film shoot.
As reported by Bollywood Shadi, In a throwback interview, Sanjay shared that he never interfered in Tina Munim's career, except when it came to her choice of clothing. He admitted to being possessive, stating that he didn’t like her to expose herself on screen. While he remained indifferent to her film successes, he clarified that it didn’t mean he was selfishly pleased when her career struggled, as that would keep her at home. Dutt expressed that if he wanted her to stop working, he could simply ask her to do so. However, he preferred that she enjoy life and pursue her passions until their planned marriage in three years.
Dutt expressed his frustration in a throwback interview regarding the numerous rumours linking Tina Munim to various male co-actors. He stated that it was physically impossible for any woman to be involved with so many men in a short time. Dutt admitted to feeling intense anger upon hearing these rumors but often found reassurance in Munim's explanations. He emphasised his deep love for her, which made it easy to trust her. Dutt also mentioned that he expected Munim to reciprocate his understanding, stating, “Today, I am quietly taking everything I hear about you because I don’t want you to start screaming and getting suspicious the moment you listen to stories about me.”
Sanjay Dutt and Tina Munim reportedly broke up in the late 1980s. After that, Dutt married Richa Sharma and Rhea Pillai, but both marriages ended in divorce. He is now happily married to Maanyata Dutt, with whom he has two children. Tina Munim married businessman Anil Ambani and has two children with him.
