Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor were co-stars first and friends, before they actually fell in love and tied the knot. But did you know that there was a point when Neetu really had helped Rishi when he broke up with his ex girlfriend? Yes, Rishi himself admitted that in his memoir which is called 'Khullam Khulla: Rishi Kapoor Uncensored'.
The 'Bobby' actor had said in his autobiography that he was in love with a girl named Yasmin. But their relationship took a toll after Rishi became a star. He had changed as a person and his behaviour towards Yasmin after getting fame was not the same. The actor had revealed that Yasmin broke up with him because of this and then immediately, he had to go for an outdoor shoot for 'Zehreela Insaan' with Neetu Kapoor.
Rishi admitted he was heartbroken after the break-up so, he would get drunk and make Neetu call Yasmin to pursue her to talk to him. "Immediately after our break-up, I had gone for an outdoor shoot for Zehreela Insaan, to Chitradurga in Karnataka, where I used to get drunk and make my co-star
Neetu Singh (whom I later married) telephone Yasmin and try to cajole her into talking to me," he wrote in his memoir.
He further revealed, "I met Yasmin on a few occasions after that, but by then I had come to terms with our break-up and handled myself with a lot more dignity. She later married a very dear friend of mine. Neetu was always very cordial with her and her untimely death a few years ago saddened me greatly."
Rishi and Neetu got married on January 22, 1980. Rishi passed away in April 2020 after struggling with Leukemia for two years.
